Seriously? Stupid fuckin' retard, I wasn't talking about Alex Watkins (he's not a scholarship player...note I said player). Calloway & Cyrus makes two. Reading is apparently hard for inbreds.
I'm just not even going to deal with your dumb ass.....I'm guessing at this point, you probably have done a little research and figured out why.

How come the dope smoking Calloway arrest has not earned a single mention anywhere?

Had it been an Auburn signee, Joe Schad would still be on campus dodging rocks and bottles.

How did "Mr. Discipline" handle it?  Second chance?  Ice cream?  Mentoring? Off the team? Pass me one?

Just to name a few. It was also mentioned during the sports segment on WKRG one night. The kid is going to redshirt this season, so I'm not sure what exactly you think should be done. I'm sure anything short of kicking him off of the team will be ridiculous to you. I'm sure you can find something to bitch and moan about.

Call in.

Tell the screener that you want to praise Paul for going to see Robert in Iowa.

Then when you get on, say, "Hey Paul.  I hear Calloway got in trouble.  Could you speak on that for a second?  I'll hang up and listen."

Of course, he'll just say, "You know I heard something.  Does Calloway play for Alabama?  Isn't he just a recruit?  Oh he's a freshman?  Redshirting?  Are you sure?  Alex, are we sure about that?  What about you, Dallas?  You heard of him?  No?  I can't really figure out what's going on with this story.  Let's just move on."

You just nailed it. You should just send him that response so he won't actually have to think it himself.

Shutup now.

Yeah, it got reported, but where's the hue and cry from the "jackass chorus" about "what kind of program is he running down there anyway?"  "That program is out of control!"

No, when a bammer player gets arrested, it's an opportunity for Nick to show what kind of disciplinarian he is.  When it's an Auburn player, it's proof there's no discipline in the program.

This despite the irony that to this point, when an Auburn player is arrested, they are swiftly permanently dismissed from the football team within a day.

How many arrests have their been under Saban? How many of those were actually removed from the team due to the arrests? I seriously can't keep up. I want to say that at least 10 times more players get arrested and play the next week than players who actually get "processed".  The only one that comes to mind is Jimmy Johns, but it would have been awful hard for him to play from his prison cell. That is reserved for those that break "undisclosed team rules" or suffer injury, or just don't turn out to be as good as advertised.

And God forbid a reporter ask about it. It's painted as trying to distract while he's trying to get ready for a game Saturday.

Lord knows the media would never try to distract the coaches and players from an upcoming game.  The state media has never done anything like that!  It's all about the game, yes sirree.

Every player?

So, no matter what a player is charged with, he should be kicked off the team by the next day. Otherwise, it's not meeting the AU standard?

No, not every single violation results in immediate dismissal.  And it shouldn't.  But if Chiz had a player caught with dope, which he hasn't yet, I can pretty much assure you he'd be gone.

I said nothing about what should or should not happen. I said to this point, the only sample size we have are the HBO 4 (all dismissed within a day), and Eric Smith (also dismissed). In Smith's case he was involved in a fight outside of a bar over a girl, and there are conflicting reports over who started the incident, but most witnesses reported it was the other guy. Regardless, he was immediately suspended for that. He got arrested again for a similar incident and he was permanently dismissed.

The sample size is much smaller at Auburn. I'm not saying a player couldn't get arrested tomorrow for smoking dope or something and Chizik "handles it internally", but I highly doubt the player sees anything less than a one game suspension.

The first year was pretty rough, but since then, they seem to be few and far between. Off the top of my head, I can think of Calloway, Barron, Elder (dismissed within a week of the arrest), Rashad Johnson, Upshaw, Johns....probably 1 or 2 more I'm missing.

Shit, AU had 5 just this year if we're going to throw stones here. Oh, and you can't give credit for kicking the 4-pack off the team, because it would have been awful hard for them to play from their prison cells. Why wasn't OMac kicked off the team? He was arrested earlier this year. I mean, that's the standard that you set, right? Why did it take like half a year to boot Eric Smith? Where was the next day swiftness?

Just saying, I think your perception of shit is a little skewed. Am I saying it's OK for guys to get arrested? No. But, I don't believe in kicking them off the team right then and there just because they got arrested for something like simple marijuana possession, etc. It doesn't matter if we're talking about Alabama, Auburn, St. Mary's School of the Blind, or whoever. I think every arrest is situational. Not to mention the fact that we're talking about 18-21 year old kids who are going to to dumb shit in the first place. If the AU standard is to kick every guy off the team that gets arrested (which it isn't), then that's great. More power to Chizik. I just don't think it should be the automatic answer, depending on the situation.
