Trotter is intrigued by your statement.

Not sure if you are just kidding, but Chizik named Moseley the starter in his presser...

What will it take to win?

1. The defense has to continue to improve and keep Auburn in the game.  Possible?  Could be.  2 of the last 3 games have been solid efforts from a tackling/covering and scheme standpoint.

2. Whoever starts at QB cannot have the playbook dumbed down.  If Mosely starts, run whatever you would normally run.  Despite what I said a week or two ago, do the same for Frazier.  If you don't mix it up and keep LSU somewhat off balance, we will lose by 40.

3. Get Lutz involved in the game right from the start.  Teams have nothing to fear from him anymore because we only throw to him 1-2 times a game at best.  A guy with his size and skillz should have 6-8 catches a game minimum.

4. If Blake is back to full speed, get him the damn ball.  He makes plays.

To follow up, Lutz has 11 catches on the season for 108 yards and 3 TD's.  Anyone think this guy could be used a little...a LOT more?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I'm thinking the gameplan will be similar to South Carolina.

Load the box. (Why should I think three mini-Lattimores are better than one true Lattimore?)
Make Jarrett Lee throw.  (I still don't believe he's that much improved.  Jefferson was going to be the starter for a reason.)
Run the hell out of the ball.  (This will be frustrating if it doesn't work, but I like Dyer's tenacity.  I think LSU's front seven is their weak point.  Name a starting LSU linebacker.  I bet you can't.)
Give Clint a few safe throws and pray the receivers make a few extra yards.
Stretch the field once or twice early.

We match up well with LSU.  They may be better than us.  They may be more talented than us.

But we have a chance.  And this season's been too damn boring for this not to happen if it even has a chance to happen.

If I'm Gus, I play the entire 1st half in a 5 wide set and throw 30+ times; then, I settle back down into the normal offense for the 2nd half.  Probably why I am not making $1M a year to coarch.

I think any threat to throw the ball, which Mosley now gives us, does upset the LSU defensive plan just a bit.  I'm hoping they continue to think we can't, stack the box, and that Gus and Clint can make them pay early.  IF, and I say IF we could get a 10-14 point lead...HUGE IF...we might stand a decent chance of holding on to it if we make them have to throw the ball.

Emory Blake is really the key player in this game if we're going to have a chance.  I think LSU can play man to man on our receivers and put 8-9 in the box each play.  Their DBs are incredible.

Really this comes down to our determination and desire.  Do we have the balls to go into Tiger Stadium and punch them straight in the mouth?  Do we have the gall to go into Tiger Stadium and bitchslap the November 5th hype?  Do we have the confidence to look Jarrett Lee in the face and say, "I know who you truly are."

A lot's stacked against us.  I don't know why, but I'm really feeling the good vibes with this.

I am calling the win, but I have no idea why I feel that way.  Maybe its the improved defense and the fact that I don't think LSU's offense is that great or maybe its my hopeful optimism that Clint Moseley will channel Aaron Rodgers incarnate or perhaps it is the glue I have been sniffing.  Either way I think the Tigers win.

It's the glue.

Would be thrilled to eat crow, but no way do we beat LSU.  NO.  WAY.

besides just cause you get it from an LSU fan doesn't mean you have to take it.

It's the glue.

Would be thrilled to eat crow, but no way do we beat LSU.  NO.  WAY.

Why "no way"?

LSU's offense mustered out a big 10 points against Oregon in the 1st half.  It was Oregon fumbles that did them in.  By no means do I think that Oregon would have won that game, but let's not act like Oregon played the perfect game.

Against Miss St, LSU managed to get three field goals until hitting a nice pass in the fourth quarter.  Again in this one, their offense spuddered especially in the first half.

Against West Virginia, LSU converted two of four turnovers into touchdowns in the 1st half.  After being up 27-7, WVU went on a rampage and their quarterback threw for 463 yards.  If it wasn't for that kickoff return for a touchdown, who knows how that game may have ended up?

After Tennessee started strong in the running game against LSU (111 yards...-29 total in their previous two games), they turned the ball over twice which both led to LSU touchdowns.

I'm not trying to take anything away from LSU. They're a very good team that makes their own destiny.

But what are we strong in?

We haven't lost a fumble once this year.  Not one.  The only team in the entire country to not have that problem.

Our punter is stout.

We can key on the run game and make them throw.

We have a decent run game when it gets going.

I'm not buying the "no way."  It'll be very tough.  We'll need to play a perfect game, but I think we match up well against LSU who has mostly capitalized on the other team's mistakes.

I am smoking large doses of reality, brother.

Plus, since we cannot win it all this year, I would much rather see the crystal (1) stay in the SEC and (2) head to Baton Rouge as opposed to Turdville.  I will take one for the team in the form of a loss in BR if that in any way helps keep bammer from winning jack shit.

From CBS Sports:

Quote
Posted by Jerry Hinnen

AUBURN WILL WIN IF: they catch the kind of game-turning cavalcade of breaks that Les Miles's team is the one usually known for receiving ... and creating. With the visiting Tigers' offense firmly in milk-clock-don't-turn-it-over-play-field-position mode thanks to its first-time starter at quarterback, the chances are awfully, awfully slim that Auburn is going to go into Death Valley and beat LSU straight-up. But Auburn's underclassmen-laden defense has showed some legitimate spark in the previous few weeks, particularly against offenses similar to LSU's pro-style ground-pound attack (see: South Carolina and Florida). If Auburn has some success holding the line against Spencer Ware and Co. (and they should), a sudden reversion to Jarrett Lee's turnover-happy 2008 form or a series of uncharacteristic special teams gaffes could keep Gene Chizik's team competitive into the fourth quarter. And then ... who knows?

LSU WILL WIN IF: they do anything other than commit that catastrophic series of mistakes. The host Tigers are three-touchdown favorites for a reason, namely that Auburn's likely strategy of winning the field-position battle and capitalizing opponent mistakes is what LSU does--and how likely are the Bayoun Bengals to be beaten at their own game in their own house? As long as Lee continues to play error-free football, the defense continues to make up for its occasional lapses with twice as many big plays, and the special teams continues to pin opponents deep, LSU has precious little to worry about from any team that's not championship-caliber--and Auburn is far too young to have earned that label yet.

THE X-FACTOR: Lee. All LSU fans were hoping from their senior signal-caller this season was for him to -- to put it politely -- not screw things up for the running game and defense. But the former turnover machine has suddenly become a legitimate weapon, completing 71 percent of his passes the previous two weeks for an eye-popping 11.2 yards an attempt (a number which, stretched over the season, would have him second in the nation)--and against quality SEC competition in Florida and Tennessee at that. Lee hasn't thrown an interception since Week 3 and sports a 10-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio for the season. It's simple: if he even comes close to playing up to his recent standards, Auburn's not going to stand a chance.
