Emotional investment

What is it about Cam that hooks me?

Never cared much for the NFL. Watch the playoffs sometimes.  Or if it's raining.

Jason, Ronnie, Carnell, Rudi, Groves, McNeill etc.  I might check on Monday to see how they did.

But Cam?  I'm invested.  Watching games.  Getting involved.  I got a Panthers hat for Sundays.  I've only had two NFL hats ever.  A Raiders hat in the 80s and a Seahawks hat given to me by a hawk.  I got two Panthers hats now.

What is it about him that makes me pull so hard for him to win?

He's charming.  We loved him at Auburn for his charisma.  And he brought us to the promise land in the midst of fire and brimstone.

And he also has the potential to be the Michael Jordan of football.  That's exciting no matter what college team he played for.

I think the emotional pull comes from realizing you want to see him succeed in the NFL when all the haters that we've dealt with over the last eighteen months, and all the "experts" have all but assured his eminent failure.

It's hard to watch though... Their defense is just fucking awful.... terrible.

They just lost to my all time favorite team today. It was hard for me, but I was actually pulling for Carolina. I can't say that about the bammers.

This is why I root for him.

Him succeeding is a huge F U to all those folks who decided to drag him through the mud, and to all those that yelled $CAM and the like.

I'm with Kaos on this.  I check to see if the Panthers are one of the games I get, and will sit and watch it.  I also check the ticker constantly if I'm not able to watch their game.  My 12yo daughter will sit there and watch Cam play too.  Any other NFL game and she has better things to do.

I fucking got NFL Sunday Ticket just to watch the Panthers.  That and watching the Dolphins makes me want to commit suicide.

Who is #15 for the Dollfins?  I watched a good bit of that game and was wondering if you noticed what happened on the last interception that sealed the game.  Guy for SD intercepts and starts running it back.  Whoever #15 is needs to be sat..suspended...kicked off....laffed at.  What a putrid attempt at a "tackle".

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Devon Bess

He is probably the second best offensive player we have.  If you consider Brandon Marshall the 1st, which I guess I do.

The DB who intercepted ran straight at Bess.  He kind of broke down...a little..like he was going to tackle...BUT, he froze in his tracks and half heartedly stuck out a chicken wing as the runner went by.  Now, I don't mean this was bad tackling.  I mean he was scared to death and absolutely meant he was having no part of being in on a tackle.

It's going to be sad when the Marlins are the second most popular sports team in the Miami area...behind the heat.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."
