(from the left coast) ... the best eating crab known to man called dungeness crab.
Since this thread continues to expand... My shoe tastes better than that. Well admittedly, dungeness crab isn't that bad, but it isn't the "best eating" by any measure.
In my opinion, stone crab claws from Joe's Stone Crab in Miami or Joe's in Las Vegas in Ceasar's Forum Shops are the best eating. A close second, if not an outright tie, are the king crab legs at the Salt Rock Grill in Indian Rocks Beach in St. Pete. They cut 'em down the center with a saw blade and grill them over an oak wood fire. You don't even have to get your hands dirty.
Of course, I think I've expanded the concept of a "dive".
