That's more like the fourth hit during a childhood game of bloody knuckles.  Sure, it stings for a minute, but no one is going to remember that shit in 24 hours.

If only Auburn had somebodies in the media like Finebaum, Scott Moore, and Danny Sheridan willing to sacrifice their professional lives in the pursuit of using rumors and innuendo, and fucking flat out lies to ruin bammer...maybe then something that actually has photographic evidence would be talked about more.  This shit would be viral if it were an Auburn player(s) at a clothing store in Montgomery.  But nah, the preferred stories are fucking made up shit about untraceable cash cards, rumors of phone tap conversations between Dye and Miltie, fabled bagmen,  non-existent tapes of Kenny Rogers asking for money where you can hear Cam and Cecil breathing in the background.  That shit gets legs, this?

If Nevin Shapiro Is a Problem, Why Isn’t Tom Al-Betar?
August 30, 2011 | Filed under: NCAA Football | Posted by: The Chancellor

If Nevin Shapiro Is a Problem, Why Isnt Tom Al Betar?Sports By Brooks has been on a crusade against Alabama Booster Tom Al-Betar for his alleged close association with the Crimson Tide football program. Brooks has produced several photos of former and current Alabama players including starting tailback Trent Richardson with Al-Betar not only signing autographs, but also at fancy restaurants.  With all the mud being thrown in the direction of Miami for their association with Nevin Shapiro, why is Alabama getting a free ride?

We have photos with an alleged ousted booster with current and former Alabama players at fancy restaurants.  Why is this guy so close to the program? Why isn’t Alabama doing more to get out in front of this story? Is it that Al-Betar isn’t running his mouth to the media? Anyone who thinks that Miami is alone in major violations is smoking a laced joint. If Nevin Shapiro is such a big deal, then guys like Tom Al-Betar should be too. I am in no way saying Al-Betar is a criminal, but it seems pretty obvious he is picking up the tab for Alabama players. That would constitute a violation. He just isn’t snitching on the Tide because he cares too much for the program.

I hope Yahoo! Sports takes a visit to Tuscaloosa and do a little follow up to this story.  Or maybe they are better off taking their investigative branch to Indianapolis and start snooping around the NCAA offices. It’s time to reign in the boosters who are obvious leaches to these young men. I think the current Miami staff and players should not suffer the consequences of a rouge booster. I don’t believe that Alabama should get in trouble either. But if we want to purify the game, we need to hold Shapiro and Al-Betar in similar lights.

Yahoo investigating the story would probably make me shit in my pants, because I do believe that Tom Dickface was doing shit he shouldn't have been doing.  Of course, listening to this made me feel a lot better about the entire ordeal.

A good example is look at how Alabama dealt with this individual from T-Town Menswear. They stepped out. They said, “hey, we have guys around this guy. He’s a shop owner. They excommunicated this guy from the program. And it happened right at the time when Ohio State was going through their whole mess with the memorabilia stuff and the Jim Tressel issues.

What are your honest thoughts Toke? Do you think some shady shit went down and then Alabama covered it up? Or do you think shady shit went down and Alabama was actually proactive and did what needed to be done a while ago?

Not being sarcastic. By your post, I think you admit that something is shady, I just want to know if you think Alabama took action early, or covered it up late?

Don't know what Token's take is but I believe just about every program has it's jock sniffers who do shit behind the scenes just to feel like big shots.  Just seen it too many times.  I have no clue if Bama knew/knows what T-Town Tom was really doing, just like I wonder if a lot of schools are aware when somebody gets close to the players.  Of course, they should all be using due diligence in this day and age to keep that in check but you can't hawk every player and booster every day.

I absolutely, 100%, believe Tom was paying for dinners.  I don't think he was giving away suits, because why would he?  He already had an agreement with the University to put the players in suits.  I don't think anything would come of that.  But the dinners?  And the picture of him at the party?  He was doing shit he shouldn't have been.

Now, I don't believe Saban would knowingly allow the players to take illegal benefits from a booster.  He is an ego maniac, and I don't think he would allow it to happen.  And I don't think the University tried to cover anything up.  But yeah, I do think Tom gave improper benefits.

But knowing and proving are 2 different things.  The Miami thing is huge because the guy admitted to giving benefits.  Tom hasn't, and probably won't.  And they can't make him admit it.  That's why I think Brooks only has the photos to show.  Because he can't find any real dirt.

I agree. And I have said it many times, but it is why I wasn't worried when the Cam stuff came out and reports said he got $200,000.

Bull. Shit.

I just don't think that kind of money floats around. That is a lot of unaccounted cash floating around that people would have a hard time handling. It would have to be laundered in some way and now we are talking about felonies.

And I do think that kids get extra benefits all the time. The problem I see with the T-Town thing, is it was so fucking blatant. That's what gets people in trouble. But, I agree though. As long as Tom keeps his mouth shut, nothing will ever come of it. And I believe Alabama officials covered this shit up quickly.

You have to admit though Token, if the shoe was on the other foot here in this situation and an Auburn booster was seen with some Auburn players, this shit would be scrolling across ESPN every 30 seconds. That is what is so frustrating to Auburn fans.

To take the hiding $200K thing a step further, wasn't this the exact reason the FBI had a role in the investigation?  I'm not in law enforcement but I have a hard time believing that you can hide that kind of money from the FBI....or that the people allegedly involved in making that kind of payment and acceptance, would be smart enough to keep it from them.  I always hear the argument about the NCAA not having subpoena power so they can't fully check out Cecil, his church etc.

The FBI can't?  Horse hockey.

And I'm not saying that I believe Cam was paid, but believe it's possible to hide it.  Hell, the Miami thing had been going on for what? 8 years?  It only came out once he was caught up in something else, and confessed to it.
