Top Gear UK is one of my favorite shows, but I had my doubts when this debuted on History last year.  My doubts proved to be well founded last year as they tried too hard to emulate the UK version but didn't have the personalities of the Brit hosts to pull it off.  This year they have stuck to what they do best, doing stupid crap in cars.  Check it out on Sunday evenings if the Sunday night football game is a snoozer.

Here's an excerpt from when they had to find America's toughest 4X4 in Alaska.  Skip ahead to 5:18 be sure to keep it on until the guy in the Dodge does his braking test.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Top Gear US is not a bad show but it's no Top Gear UK (which is also one of my favorites...glad to know that someone else on this board watches it).

Where else can you watch a race to the North Pole between a dog sled and the mighty Toyota Hilux powered by gasoline and vodka?

Last night's show sucked.  The highlight of this season has to be Rutledge hauling 1000 lbs of manure across San Antonio in a Miata.
