The article said he is in surgery, but word is he did not make it.   My suggestion to the fuckheads who shot him:  turn yourself in now before the APD and CCSO find your sorry asses, or the only cost to the taxpayer will be for spent ammunition.

An Anniston Police officer remains in surgery at a Birmingham hospital Wednesday afternoon after reportedly being shot in the head.

Officer Justin Sollohub, 27, was on routine patrol in west Anniston Monday morning when he came across two black males in an alley way, according to Anniston Police Chief Layton McGrady. A foot chase ensued for reasons still unknown in which one of the suspects shot Sollohub.

A LifeSaver helicopter transported Sollohub to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for emergency surgery.

Local and federal law enforcement officials gathered just west of downtown Anniston near 21st Street to search for the suspects. Police dogs are being used to track the suspects and shortly after the shooting, officers had their guns drawn and were wearing bullet proof vests.

McGrady said the suspects had been spotted a few times but were not taken into custody.

As of early Wednesday afternoon, all Anniston schools were on lockdown but were dismissed at the regular time.

Here's a little advice.  When an officer says stop......you fucking STOP.  Now, one man, probably a family man, is most likely dead..and one or both these punks is facing a murder rap.  Life over.

CBS42 in Birmingham just reported that the officer passed away in surgery. Fox6 says he's in critical condition.

Anniston has really gone to shit since Ft McClellan shut down. It's almost as bad as going into downtown Birmingham.

As Wench said, he's on life support until his organs find a new home.  As soon as they do, they'll pull the plug and the charge will be upgraded to capital murder.  And since his name, charge and whereabouts are now official....
