Kiehl Frazier gets snaps in Auburn's half-scrimmage
Published: Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 1:43 PM     Updated: Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 2:00 PM

AUBURN, Alabama -- Freshman quarterback Kiehl Frazier took all of the snaps in a short scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Tuesday -- but don't read too much into it.

The scrimmage was designed strictly for young players, and Frazier is the youngest of the quarterbacks vying for the starting job at Auburn this season. Barrett Trotter and Clint Moseley are very much in the picture as the Tigers move toward their Sept. 3 opener against Utah State.

Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn said Frazier look comfortable in the stadium, as he has in each of the three scrimmages.

**Coach Gene Chizik said running back Mike Dyer "is getting better" from his undisclosed injury.

"He's beat up and banged up," he said.

Dyer was on the sidelines during the scrimmage.

Chizik said "I don't have any reason to doubt" that he'll be ready for the opener.

**Chizik said he'd like to think he's "real close" to setting his two-deep depth chart.

"Obviously, that's the goal. We're getting there," Chizik said.

Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot.

If fall practice has just begun, how in the hell is Dyer "beat up and banged up".  I know teams take reps during the summer without coaching assistance, but was Dyer taking hits?  Or is it coach speak?

Dyer is actually inelgible and word has it, he'll be appearing on the Paul Finebaum Show tomorrow at 2:00 to reveal he is the infamous bag man.

Word on da' skreets is it's a hammy.  A little birdy told me at one of our tailgating sessions.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Technically speaking, a broken bone can be product of a single hit.  As can a torn ligament.  To be honest though, I was just poking fun at the retarded capstone report a few days ago hinting that Dyer was seriously injured or academically ineligible, and Chizik was trying to hide it.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."
