Five Finebaum minutes
« on: August 01, 2011, 05:53:35 PM »
Learned a bit in five minutes.

PF is now distancing himself from the catfish theories. Flat out said nothing to see in regard to the whole McGregor/Lowder angle.  Ten months of snickering wiped away with one glib comment.

I'd not heard fhe Sheridan stuff before. Never heard anybody sound as butthurt as he did. Ever. What I found most interesting was his comment that "after the crap he put up with he was gonna by god find out. Anybody wanna bet he can't find out?".

What? But...but...but.... Didn't he say he already knew?

Idiot.

The best part of the Sheridan interview was his claim that he was "NOT an oddsmaker".  He took great offense to this during his lil' tirade last week.

He followed it up by again offering 50/50 odds and placed a bet of 5+ figures on his being right.

Classic radio.

Help me out here:

Sheridan came on Finebaum today and said that he's gone through crap and was going to find out the name of the bagman?

Or Finebaum alluded to the negative reaction towards Sheridan and subsequently stated that Sheridan was going to find out the name of the bagman to silence the naysayers?  And then Finebaum said Sheridan wouldn't find out?

His own bio on CBS sports says he is an oddsmaker.

Quote
For USA Today, he sets the daily odds on every sport along with political and esoteric odds – for example, will Alan Greenspan lower the interest rate, and if so, by how much?

I thought it was 7 figures?  If it's five, surely we can get a TigersX pool going to call his bet.

No.  F'baum just replayed the Sheridan interviews earlier.  He wasn't actually on again.   I didn't catch Paul's commentary on what he believed he'd find or wouldn't.

Everyone knows he's an oddsmaker.  The guy basically shit the bed last week.  If he doesn't come out with anything over the next few weeks that's no-shit solid, he's fucked for good.

Fixed it for ya....only a fuckin Millionare can call him on it.  Also, during his lil tirade he stated that he has two sources that has a source or two inside the NCAA...it was very Joe Schad like.  No one else would give him the time of day, because they know that he's a blowhard idiot.

Better things you could do in 5 minutes:

Take a dump.
Heat up a hot pocket.
Wait for said hot pocket to cool.
Eat said hot pocket.
Watch this video.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Finebaum is cautiously mocking it.  IssuIng nationwide BOLOs and calling his show "the search for the bagman"

If something comes of it he's covered because he kept mentioning it. If not he's covered because he was "obviously" kidding.

Slightly OT.

I LOL'ed like I've never LOL'ed before listening to this show when that guy just called in and had Paul fooled for a little while.

"Hey Pawl! Pawl, we all know he cheated! Why don't you just find it out right now, Pawl!. Have Danny back on! He cheated when he won the Heisman, and he cheated when he won the Maxwell...
Paul: "How did he cheat when he won the Heisman?"
"Hell, he cheated, Pawl! He cheated when he won the Walter Camp, and the Davey O'Brien, he's gonna have to give em all back, Pawl! And then he cheated in the Arn Bowl, Pawl, that was an illegal ford paiss start of the second half. And Pawl, he cheated in the National Championship game, and somehow Auburn got him to be the number one pick in the draft Pawl, I don't know how, but they did it, Pawl! (crying now) And, somewhere, you gotta find the bagman Pawl. Find him! Find the bagman, Pawl! Cuz hell, I've pulled a Updyke, and I've started poisonin trees, Pawl. And now mah yard's full of dead trees, Pawl, I can't even mow. Find the bagman! Please Pawl, find him! Find the bagman. Roll damn tahd, Pawl, Roll damn tahd..."

The best part of that second Sheridan interview was the fact it was unscheduled.  It was put together in a hurry at the last minute because Paul had a caller tell him that Sheridan had let a new piece of information out on an Atlanta show involving a witness.  Within' the hour... SLAM on the breaks!!!.... Sheridan is on F'baum.

Unfortunately for Paul, Sheridan starts talking and immediately starts explaining that his new witness is actually the bagman he was referring to the week before.  He just got too much flack for using the word "bagman", and therefore said he needed to stop using it, and that it was an error on his part.  He had no new story, it was the same story, with new verbage.   It was then that he started calling everyone that was doubting him idiots, and that he wasn't an oddsmaker.  It was beautiful.   Paul just sat there, completely struggling and pausing as he tried to support Danny and not call him an idiot himself.

They are tied together in the potato sack, and Danny has already taken a dump in it.  Paul can't get away.
