So a head coach can't deny a transfer? Furthermore, he can't add in stipulations such as not allowing him to transfer to another school in-state, or conference rival, etc.?
I'm fairly positive that whether you take a scholarship or not, you still have to be granted the transfer to enroll at another school, which, you have to do to be eligible to compete athletically for a college program. Scholarship has nothing to do with this.
Actually this reminds of a question I have always had. (No I already know that AWK is flaming)
I find it hard to believe that a kid could not enroll at whatever school he wanted to no matter if his previous coach granted a full release or not.
Scholarships are renewed annually so why does it matter. If a kid tells Lord Sabinz or anyone else for that matter "fuck you, I'm leaving and going to Auburn" how is that any more of a breach than a school revoking his scholarship at the end of the year? Kid still has to sit out a season if he transfers to another Division 1 school.
I say all this to say that I bet if anyone wanted to push it, a school could not make it stick.
