I have no answer in full yet but I will tell you this; I am a very happy man that Trump is not running.

I'm backing Herman Cain now.  I'd like to see him take on The Pharaoh in a teleprompter-less debate!

It sure is pretty to look at though, and I do tend to have a lot of libertarian tendencies.

I knew you were a man of education, AUT1.

My mother was a librarian, b/c of her forcing me to read when I was young, even when she knew I hated it, I read a lot of great stuff.  I have since went back and re-read a lot of it.

Actually TH, the Constitution was written in its true form around Libertarianism. But I do agree that some of those guys go way too far for my blood. Paul's foreign policy and Johnson's opposition to any kind of tarriff blew my mind.

Well, perhaps, but I have to disagree with you just a little on usage, e.g. libertarianism with a small "L"; and written more for a true republic, with a small "R".

I think fundamentally it may be fair enough to say that the modern libertarian movement is trying to align itself with the ideals of the Founders but it does go off-the-rails of responsibility in several matters such as foreign policy.  I've also got some issues with the way in which they would 'legalize' and 'decriminalize' drugs.  They are quick to point out the results of what they purport as the same policy in Portugal without realizing exactly what Portugal did to achieve those results (which many of them would probably disagree with entirely as a 'libertarian' policy).  Anyway, I don't want to start that debate over again...pages and pages have been written already.
