The problem with Detroit is not the decline in population; the problem is the high taxes, rampant crime, and city officials who are corrupt as the day is long (Democrats all I might add).  They have controlled that city for nearly 48 years and in that time the population has dropped by nearly 1 million people.  I don't think immigrants will like to live there any more than any one else under the current regime.  That city is a prime example of what happens when Democrats take over everything.  No one should be forced to live there.

What a lunatic!  Detroit is currently a dead city thanks primarily to over-taxation and a dying auto industry.  Businesses have effectively been driven out of the city center by policies that mirror those promoted by the Obama during the 2008 election.  Instead, they go to Flint, Dearborn and Southfield.  The few that are moving back have been lured by low rent and temporary tax deals.  Bringing more people into a city with 26+% unemployment isn't going to solve any problems... unless your goal is to increase poverty and justify further entitlement programs.

That was pretty funny.  It just took me 24hrs to find it.  Another good reason is that maybe they would go into canada and drain of their socialiast government money.
