So glad that we got Vlad to help boost our hitting and put runs on the bo........oh, what is that you say? He is only batting .242 with 1 homer. eff pitching though, who needs that poop when you can put runs on the board? Only problem the other team for the last eight games seems to be putting up more than us. I was reading more on the Vlad deal this morning, an old article that I missed. Apparently our GM said "there is no such thing as a bad one year deal". Um, yes there is. It's paying a 36 year old $8 million to DH, who just happen to go cold at the end of the year last year and not going out and getting some pitching. Zach Britton is living up to expectations and that is good, Jake Arrieta is not doing bad either, but two men can't do it all.

Starlin Castro has been one of the few bright spots for teh Cubs this year so far. I think Quade has found the prototypical leadoff hitter in him. Now, if he can just fill in spots 2-8 we might just make the playoffs.
