Only 11 games on your schedule.  (8-3) per the 11 game schedule, (9-3) with the 12 game schedule.

Ask again after Spring Drills and I'll give my opinion. I don't really feel well informed to make a prediction until we now what the depth chart will look like. Yes, I said depth chart.

Sept. 3    UTAH STATE (W 52-13. Tigers romp in the MSU prep game.)

Sept. 10    MISSISSIPPI STATE (W 31-21. Tigers cruise to a comfortable win at home.)

Sept. 17    at Clemson (W 28-24. Trotter earns his first road win in another down to the wire scrap.)

Sept. 24    FLORIDA ATLANTIC (W 56-10. Tigers cruise to an easy victory.)

Oct. 1    at South Carolina (W 31-28. Auburn hasn't lost to USC since 1930, but score a late TD to keep the streak alive.)

Oct. 8    at Arkansas (L 31-35. Tigers roll into a hostile RRS & come up short.)

Oct. 15    FLORIDA (W 42-21. Muschamp's gators fall as Dyer runs for 150 & 3 scores.)

Oct. 22    at LSU (L 23-24. LSU kicks a last second FG to pull out a win.)

Oct. 29    OLE MISS (W 45-20. Trotter regroups and tosses 3 TDs & the Tigers win easily at home.)

Nov. 12    at Georgia (W 34-27. In a game marred by multiple unsportsmanlike penalties on the bulldogs, Auburn brings home the hedges.)

Nov. 19    SAMFORD [HC] (W 38-0. The starters get a much needed rest as Pat Sullivan is welcomed back home.)

Nov. 26    ALABAMA (W 35-17. In the most electrically charged atmosphere in Jordan-Hare since 1989, Auburn defeats the tide in convincing fashion. After the game, a full fledged brawl erupts between the fans at outside the stadium - which Auburn also wins. In the weeks that follow, bama fans flood the internet and the Paul Finebaum radio show complaining to anyone that will listen about their poor treatment in Auburn. Many claim Auburn to be worse than a trip to Baton Rouge.)

Record: 10-2

I think the USC game is a toss-up and could go either way. My worst case prediction is 9-3.

We won at least four or five games this past season we had no business winning. We had no blueprint, no process and we couldn't even make the other guy quit. We spot the former champs 24 in JHW and pants the bastards in front of the entire CFB world. I call that dominating. You heard me...I said WE.

This could all change.

Sept. 3    UTAH STATE (W 42-14) Offense romps.  Defense looks sloppy.
Sept. 10    MISSISSIPPI STATE  (W 21-17)  Similar to last season, we need a break to win in the end.
Sept. 17    at Clemson  (W 31-14)  We romp Clemson as they get too hyped up for their "homefield" advantage.
Sept. 24    FLORIDA ATLANTIC  (W 35-21) Offense romps.  Defense is confusing as we don't shut down easy opponent.
Oct. 1    at South Carolina  (W 38-35)  Offense, again, romps.  Defense can't stop a turtle.
Oct. 8    at Arkansas  (L 20-35)  Offense looks decent but not enough to make up for defensive woes.
Oct. 15    FLORIDA  (W 28-24)  Homefield takes this one.  Florida's not "gelled" under new management and loses.
Oct. 22    at LSU  (L 14-28)  I'm thinking LSU will be the best team in the SEC this year.
Oct. 29    OLE MISS  (W 35-17)  Nutt's on his way out.  We win this one easy with fast start offense.
Nov. 12    at Georgia  (L 21-24)  Heartbreaker.  This is the one where our lack of leadership and experience bites us.
Nov. 19    SAMFORD [HC] (W 35-7)  Too easy to care about.
Nov. 26    ALABAMA (W 20-17)  Defensive gameplans are key, and homefield prevents bama from getting into the endzone.

Again, once we see spring practice and once we hear about summer workouts and once we hear about Fall practices and once we hear about the quality of new recruits, we'll be able to make a more informed and accurate prediction for the season.

I'm not good at the long range, crystal ball prognostication.  Too many questions about this team next year.  It would be a total guess based on little to no information.

No and none of us are. This time last season we had Fannin slotted at RB  and Caudle and Trotter were mentioned either/or at QB but Tyrik Rollinson was the buzz along with Dyer. We had no idea whether Savage would ever suit up again or Etheridge contribute anywhere close to the level he had before. And Bates was still a SS. I think most of us thought realistically we had a shot at seven or eight wins with a favorable schedule. I said ten with a bowl victory and knew it was a stretch.

And I don't think we expected much more even when Newton showed up initially. We had a veteran OL, Josh Bynes and a workable group on the D-line but no true standouts. Special teams were a total embarrasment outside of Byrum and a choice of two punters. In fact , we had far less going for us with unknown quantity Cam Newton than LSU does with Mettenburg. Hell he only has to be half a Cam. What's even more mystifying to me is the transformation of Nick Fairley. Who would have bought (or even leased) that guy a Chrysler 300 based on his body of work prior to spring practice?

No way for me to predict anything either with all the changes.  In fact, I suxed at predicting last years season.  For me, all the questions jmar just listed were on my mind but I was worried most about our defense and was an unapologetic Roof basher.  I thought the O would be significantly better with the senior dominated line and a QB who had the element missing from Todd's game...legs.  But, I was certain our defense would be a colossal fail.  They certainly had their rough moments in 2010 but in the games against MSU and LSU, they looked solid.  However, from the 2nd half of the Iron Bowl through the SECCG and on to the MNCG, that unit looked like world beaters.

This year will be like a fresh start with a ton of new faces getting playing time.  I'm pumped to see what unfolds but I'm not getting my expectations up because of the brutal road schedule.  And I really don't believe any team in the country faces a road stretch like Auburn.
