That's it! I'm done!

That's it! I'm done!
« on: March 15, 2011, 12:19:52 AM »
I am turning in all my gear, passes, momentos, etc. I am finally going to bail on Auburn because the media keeps suggesting to me that Auburn has some sort of bad Karma surrounding it. Some say that the four thug players is exposing the true Auburn mentality, not like the saintly program on the west side of the state with its angelic players. The whole Cam Newton thing and now the recent arrests is just proof that Chizik is turning Auburn into the next version of 1980s Miami Hurricanes. I can't have anything to do with that, despite I made it strongly through the Eric Ramsey, Tater Tot, and Jetgate fiascos. Now is the time to quit being an AU person, while they are on top, because they are doomed to fall mightily now. I might come back once the start losing again or get put on probation for something. That is the AU that I deserve! How can I argue against the fishwrap scribes?

I have said it before and will say it again.  Auburn fans as a general rule cannot stand to not be liked.  Get used to it.  If you are on top you are not liked.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Auburn into the next version of 1980s Miami Hurricanes.

I was personally hoping that we hopped off the jet in Glendale wearing orange and blue cammie pants, and that the Athletic Department had 2 Live Crew at the team hotel performing the night before the game.

Exactly. For a fan base that likes to live in the past, they have pretty selective memory, especially concerning the past 30 years. What really gets me is that young fans that were not even alive when the Inbreds were winning most of the time, want to talk about how dominant they were. They are indoctrinated by the Harvey Updykes that the Tahd is and always will be the only successful program in the state. I thought Wife Beaters were bad when we had the win streak against them, but after this past season, I have never seen their fan base so pissed off. I think it was made even worse that we did it in the season after they did, stealing their thunder and not giving them the several years to gloat about their MNC like they normally like too. I have ran across the occasional decent UAT fan who thinks back to back MNCs is great for the state and both programs, but for the most part their fan base has their panties in a wad right now and they are looking for any dirt they can get on us.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You guys just don't get it and you are not listening to all those nice unbiased sports writers who knows more than us. We are the little brother and always will be. We can't go around celebrating our MNC in public. We can't be going around showing up our "big brother". Besides, we can only win by cheating. We need to be taken down a notch.

Wow. You put me in my place.

Seriously, I don't know you and your probably don't know me as well as some of the others do, so they knew I was not serious. However, there were certain phrases I included to make sure everybody knew it was a sarcastic post aimed at this state's sports media.

However, in regards to #2, most of us on this board are either current students, alumni, season ticket holders, donors, or just fans that spend money on tickets and merchandise. While we give something to Auburn University in the various ways we support it, such as time, money, and energy, there is an expected return in that support. We expect the Auburn Creed to be upheld with those involved in all areas of the university, especially those in high profile positions. So, to say that Auburn would not owe me or any of us anything would be incorrect. I am and always will be proud to be an AU man, but as AU supporters we do have the right to expect integrity and fairness out of Auburn itself, so yes, I would say not only I, but all of us do deserve "anything" from Auburn.

I thought you were an "All In" member of the David K Ward School of Drill Pressery.
