There will be lots of people surprised in what they see out of Trotter. The dude has some talent throwing da ball but let me just tell he aint so bad on his feet either. Actually, he is a lot better on his feet than Todd. Also, there is a reason Grimes is the best OL coach in the country.

Complacency is a huge issue.  The pressure of the job is just too great.  Look at all the coaches in the game now, and look at how many have drop offs.  Some worse than others, but they all get complacent.   Keeping asst. coaches around forever is a recipe for disaster.  Hire guys with fire in their belly, and move them up or out about every 3 years and you'll last longer.

Somewhat sad to say but spot on IMO.  I've been high fiving (Okay, exploding fist-bumping) fellow AU fans about keeping this staff in tact...again.  However, it may very well have been that losing one or two could be a positive in the end.  I look to Bama's season and recall I kept saying how hard it probably is to stay up for every game, week in and week out when you've done it for so long and everyone's gunning for you.  Had to be some complacency going on whether they knew it or not.  I do think that Trooper's personality and overall style are genuine and he'll constantly be thinking of ways to motivate these guys.  Plus, I think the overall youth of this team will help them avoid that issue because so many of these kids are ready to step into the limelight.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

I have it on good authority that to avoid complacency amongst the staff, they are organizing back-yard barbecues to develop unity and close-knit comraderie.  What could go wrong?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

On that subject...do you think it may be human nature to develop a bit of complacency on this staff?  No...not saying or insinuating they will go that route.  However, if you think about the last 2+ years and how this staff came in hungry, working that ass off, trying new and innovative recruiting techniques, pushing and pushing until they eventually reached the top and won it all...even as quickly as it may have happened.

How do you go into this upcoming season with that same fire?  Is it the challenge of, in one sense, starting over?

I don't think it will a problem this year-There is alot of (raw) talent on this team that will need to be coached. Week in and week out. I think last years team, as the season went on most likely needed less coaching on certain aspects. JMO
