I know you folks that aren't here, and haven't been for a while lose sight of the "machine" here that drives the media, and how bammers are given complete free reign to spew bullshit 24/7 on the airwaves, not to mention the internet.  How something as insignificant as Cecil Newton being at the post game, can turn in to a week long media feeding frenzy, and hundreds of bammer callers that think it matters.

Any non-Auburn representation of sports media has been the worst at turning every molehill into a mountain as far as the Cam Newton stuff is concerned. If you're outside the state, where do you go to get your "unbiased" news about the situation? ESPN? The NYTimes? USAToday?

The general population's opinions are formed by these assclowns and their "anonymous sources", wild speculation, and peculiar fixation on burning a school in eastern Alabama to the ground.

It does when people in national papers start slandering about institutional control at our school. Haven't you seen how they can control public perception even if the story has no merit? this shit needs to be nipped. I'm thinking slander lawsuits out the ass ala what Mark Levin is doing with msnbc. If no one ever calls the media on false statements, they will keep doing it in the name  of 'journalism'. freedom of speech and freedom of the press do not cover slander and defamation of character.

Classic example just now on JOX.  Some caller calls in and during the conversation Tony says "Since Auburn is under investigation", and the caller says Auburn is not, and Tony argues with him, and when pinned down has to state that since Auburn's name is mentioned in the investigation, that it is under investigation.  Al chimes in and says, no AUBURN isn't under investigation, Tony says then why did the NCAA talk to them?  Al says that's where Cam plays, but it all happened in Starkville, and Tony does what idiots do when they can't get their point across and says "it's all semantics, Auburn is under investigation", and the show ends with that.

I've met the guy...he'll take the time to talk to you.  He works 24/7, and a total jerk would get work like he does.  He is a yankee, but he's been here a long time.  Overall, I normally like the guy, and he normally doesn't get deep in to the substantive talk.  Like I said, he's just "the glue"...the radio guy that keeps things going on the show.  He's like the play by play guy....but when he gets in to color commentating, he's out of his element.
