Let's all wait for RWS to explain why making this lateral move makes sense.  Why would he leave his friend and mentor, Nick Saban, to go (while a very good friend also) to Florida to take same position?

Would be a solid hire with two ex-jawja boys teaming up to run the D.  I thought Smart was looking more for a head coaching gig.  I think the bigger hire for them is the OC.  That better be a cannon ball type splash hire because the Gaytah nation has been used to seeing fireworks for years dating back to Steve Superior, with a Zook hiccup in between.

The Muschamp hire is...shall we say...perplexing.

THAT. WOULD.  BE.  SO.  AWESOME.

Now that the SEC and ESPN are together, Craig James could call a game where Leach was coordinating!!

THAT would be Must See TV rhat thar.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Stupid move on his part, if true.  Coach BMF will have his hands ALL over that defense, because that's all he knows.  He has more freedom at SPuat.

You think Saban doesn't have his hands all in the defense at Alabama?

FWIW, I don't even think Smart is going to leave. If he didn't leave Alabama for a lateral move to his alma mater, I don't see what's going to make him want to make a lateral move into a new coaching staff. It has nothing to do with "Nick Saban, friend and mentor". Like I told your little brother Prowler about Malzahn and Vandy, it would just make sense on face value. Hypothetically, he would be a logical choice, since Muschamp basically runs Saban's defense and you could almost automatically just plug Smart in. On the flip side, it wouldn't make sense because he turned down his alma mater only last year. I just really don't see it happening.

Bottom line, I can understand why they would pursue him. That makes perfect sense. Him actually taking the job would be a bit odd.

Now, go do your victory dance, Chowler.

If Smart leaves it will hurt more from a recruiting standpoint than it will a coaching standpoint.  It won't be the end of the world though.  I'd expect Sal Sunseri to get a promotion.

Florida is a gig that carry's a lot of weight.  Not saying Bama isn't, but it's pretty clear that he wouldn't suffer at Florida, and maybe, just maybe, the working conditions are better than under Saban.  Especially if Smart feels he's learned everything he can from Saban.

If money and working conditions mean anything, it can make a lot of sense....at face value.  You have no idea.  You certainly don't want it to happen, no matter what you say.

I realize you miss Kaos a lot.  You continue this retarded Prowler/ Chopper combo when really it's him being himself and thinking your an idiot, and me thinking you're an idiot completely independently.  It's a lame retort at this point.

Also, why is there a reason to do a "victory dance"?  I don't get it.   Has Smart left?  Am I doing a victory dance because Malzahn is staying?  Did I win a major award from Fragile, Italy?   Fill me in!!!!

I can agree on the recruiting deal.  I believe that Saban is savy enough to continue a knock it out of the park level defense.  However, I believe Smart is a key to Saban's legwork on the recruiting trail.

We'll see though....

You totally made your own little strawman argument, plugged me into it, and waited to see what I would say so you could do your canned "HAHA GOD YOU'RE PREDICTABLE" speech. You make it out like I would be a moron for saying the move would make sense, then you yourself go on about how it would make sense. If I would have said the same exact thing you just did, you would have pounced. You accuse me of "following around" Prowler when he acts like an idiot, but you do the same exact thing with me; except you just plug me in before I've even said anything. You're just a weird little fucker.

I know Coach belittle has his hands on the Defense, that's his baby.  But, Coach Smart has more freedom at SPuat than he would have at UF. Coach Smart needs to go somewhere that he can call the Defense his own baby....similar to Kevin Steele at Clemson, Coach Chizik at UT, and to some degree Coach Muschamp at Texas (he was a Co-Coordinator with Coach Atkin).  I think Coach Manny Diaz (Miss St. DC) is the one I'd choose.
