You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders - 68-66
Jacksonville Dolphins - 69-55
Georgia Southwestern ???s (no record of this team's existance on ESPN.com) 78-50
University of South Carolina Upstate Spartans - 68-54.

As sad as it may be, USCU is probably our signature win thus far...

Oh, and by the way, don't expect any more wins this year.

Georgia Southern, Grambling, FSU, and then SEC the rest of the way out.

Whatever, 4 wins basically pay for the new Arena.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

At first I was surprised, but after looking at their W/L on their schedule, it's safe to say that they suck even worse than us.

Auburn wins overtime thriller against Georgia Southern in matchup of Division I bottom-dwellers
Published: Wednesday, December 29, 2010, 10:44 PM

By Evan Woodbery/Auburn Bureau, The Birmingham News, Press-Register, and The Huntsville Times

AUBURN -- At the beginning of the overtime period, Auburn coach Tony Barbee approached players who had slumped shoulders and exhorted them to perk up.

"There were heads were hanging and I could see it," Barbee said. "I told them, 'We've got five more minutes to win this game. This is winning time.'"

The Tigers overcame what would have been one of the most dramatic collapses in recent school history to regain their composure in overtime and defeat Georgia Southern 88-84 Wednesday night at Auburn Arena.

The Eagles used a 15-0 run to cut Auburn's lead to 10 in the second half. GSU outscored Auburn 51-24 in the second half after the Tigers led 52-25 at halftime.

The game was a matchup of two of the nation's worst teams, one from Southeastern Conference and one from the Big South. Both squads were limping through bleak seasons and were ranked near the bottom of 345 Division I teams in the ratings percentage index.

Yet they produced a game that was riveting in its own way.

Auburn (4-7) was dominant in the first half, shooting crisply, executing fast breaks more effectively than at any point this season and playing solid defense.

The Tigers seemed to be cruising toward a blowout, but Barbee anticipated a closer second half.
"At halftime I jumped on them pretty good," Barbee said. "When you have a young team like that, they go into the locker room and take a big sigh of relief and say, 'This game's over, and we can just go and mess around.'"

Instead, the Eagles (4-10) methodically worked their way back into the game. GSU hit a barrage of 3-pointers against Auburn's zone and forced 15 turnovers in the final 20 minutes.

"In the second half we got too complacent with the lead," said Kenny Gabriel, who scored 15 points off the bench.

Earnest Ross had a game-high 20 points, while Frankie Sullivan added 17 points and five assists. Rob Chubb had 12 points and eight rebounds before fouling out.

Barbee announced after the game that sophomore guard Andre Malone had left the team over the Christmas break.

Malone was averaging 11.7 points per game, second only to Ross.

"Andre thought this was not the right fit for him, and I agree, so Andre's going to look for another place to play," Barbee said. "He just felt it wasn't the right fit, and I agree."

Barbee said one of the concerns expressed by Malone was seeing his minutes "dwindle" with the return of Frankie Sullivan from a knee injury.

"I want guys who want to be here," Barbee said. "I wasn't going to beg him to stay."

Barbee dismissed concerns about missing Malone's production: "There's a leading scorer on every team in the county, even those who haven't won a game."

Auburn has a day off before hosting Grambling Friday at 4 p.m.
