Last night, the latest bombshell dropped on the Cam Newton ordeal was that Mississippi State recruiters had been specifically told by Newton and his father, Cecil Newton , that money had played a pivotal role in Newton's recruitment to Auburn over MSU. On its face, the charge is damning; if evidence exists of Newton and his father leading MSU to believe that it would need to pay money to recruit him, that's a serious problem, and the NCAA would need to know that immediately.

Except... here's the thing. Mississippi State acknowledged just today that it let the SEC know of the Cam Newton recruiting situation in January. That was 10 months ago. And yet, 10 months after that fact, here's what an SEC spokesperson said today:

SEC spokesman Charles Bloom said Wednesday evening that there was also no mention of the reported conversations in either of the school’s reports to the league.

Okay, great, but those exact conversations were reported on a major media outlet when they were reported on ESPN last night. So here's what we're hoping someone at Mississippi State can answer: why is ESPN learning about incriminating conversations before the SEC?

If a school has knowledge and evidence of serious wrongdoing in recruiting, as we've all been led to believe Mississippi State has against Auburn, it is incumbent upon that school to divulge as much of that information as possible to the appropriate authorities. And indeed, Mississippi State has been on the offensive as far as representing itself as a responsible steward of the SEC's rules, reportedly declining to pay the Newton family any money and reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities .

And yet, it defies immediate logic that MSU could be this proactive in enforcing the SEC's rules and yet neglect to mention this, the most obvious and egregious flaunting of the of SEC's rules among what MSU has reported so far. Why?

So, when does the NCAA send MSU the LOI (On a BLT) for withholding information they are REQUIRED under NCAA guidelines to report?  Looked up those guidelines last night and guess what, you can't withhold that information.  Sooooo.....hello..

Someone at MSU has possibly done something very stupid/committed hari-kari or just does not care what they have started.

Now why would someone not care?  Because they have an "out" that is not related to college football.

Thus my somewhat farcical rumor of Mullen to the NFL..........if that is his career path then he does not care what he leaves behind in NCAA world.

This whole thing is a steaming pile of shit...........................take a guess you too might just be right.

I just can't figure out why they are so damn eager to hang themselves? Do they figure "Hey, we've always been shitty anyway, why not?" I don't get it.

None of this makes sense.

In June of 2014, the NCAA will release its findings. 

"Cam Newton was recruited by the following schools:  Miss State, Oklahoma, and Auburn.  Here is what we found out regarding the allegations:

Miss State asked Cecil Newton what it would take to get Cam into school.  Cecil responded, 'It will take a scholarship.'

Oklahoma asked Cecil Newton is Cam would be willing to play wide receiver.  Cecil said, 'No.' 

Auburn told Cam about their great offensive line and told him he would be a future millionaire in the NFL if he came to Auburn.  Cam said, 'I commit to Auburn.' 

We could not find any of the alleged illegal recruiting practices as reported by ESPN, Foxsports, CBS, and the rest of the internet.  In short, we don't know what the fuck people were talking about.

We searched for four years, and we found absolutely nothing.  Dan Mullen was always confused why we were asking him questions about the shopping of Cam Newton to colleges.  Dan had kind of forgotten Cam Newton's name around 2013. 

So what the hell was all the fuss about?  We spent a lot of money on this.  Anyone care to pay us back for all of our investigative work?  No?
