Gimmicky offense...
« on: November 08, 2010, 08:56:09 AM »
All I've heard from idiot bammers since Malzahn got hired was pokes about his "gimmicky high school offense".  Now, with many bammers concerned about the bammer offense, I'm now hearing on the radio, and reading on the net, how McElwain is too predictable...that he needs to do some misdirection and trick plays now and again to keep the defenses honest or get them on their heels.   Bammers are funny.

bammer reality is if they were to install these kind of plays, well it would still be traditional football. Auburn runs a gimmicky offense no matter what. I'll take that gimmicky offense straight to being undefeated.

Another hypocrisy I like is that the same bammers that told me we were too rash in firing Tuberville after having an SEC record that went from 8-0, to 7-1, to 6-2, to 5-3, to 2-6, are the same ones that have told me they want Saban, or in the very least their OC, to be shown the door after two losses when earlier in this same season they were proclaiming these coaches as golden gods. All this shit about their "regular season win streak", which is bammerism for forgetting they lost the SEC and then got beaten by Utah in their bowl game.

I tried rationalizing with these people at the beginning of the year that it is next to impossible to repeat a National Championship in the BCS era.

Nope. Not at bammer. They should expect to win the NC every single year from here to eternity. It's what Bahr would have wanted.

This is where math is not their friend.  To do it "Bear's way" would be to win one every 4.16 years based on his tenure being 25 years and claiming 6 championships.

They are actually on track for "da bahr's way".God forbid that Saban have bear years of '69 & '70 which were 6-5 and 6-5-1 respectively.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

just because I am bored and should be doing other more productive things:

The 4.16 years does not hold water either.

1961 and 1979 were legit.

1964, 1965 & 1973  do not hold water.

They were left out in 1966 but that can happen in the BCS era.

1978 is a possible when applying today's standards.

So, using today's standards, the walking, talking gin barrel would have won 2 (and maybe three) titles in 25 years......for one every 12.5 years or one every 8.3 years if they get lucky in 1978.

Anyone want to bet saban is around to win number 2 in 2022?

I'll take a gimmicky offense that routinely runs up 300+ on the ground.  To hell with 3 yards and a cloud of dust, we go 20 yards and a vapor trail.

What you forget is that the ONLY time the 4.16 years comes into play is here.  In order to effectively argue with a turd on this point one must take the best case scenario because that is what they believe.  You will still never get through to them but you will get one layer deeper in the discussion.

agree with what you said here.

However, I quit interacting with, much less talking football, with turds a long time ago.

Demonstrating much dedication and after great effort, I completed the 12 step program.....it was very liberating.
