I haven't been on in like a week due to more important shit in real life. And I won't be on next week due to surgery. I will send you a doctor's excuse from me posting on here if you want. It has nothing to do with AU doing well, but since you're all pissed off at the world right now, I can see why you're going there. I don't see how my posts in the previous few weeks about how well AU is doing, how I was wrong on Newton, etc, are being irrational or "bammerish". But whatever. Hell, 10 days ago I was putting forth an argument as to why AU should be #1 in the BCS rankings over a few other programs.
My point was Saban was called an asshole and things because of his comments on these rogue agents, and it was all fun and games when it was about Alabama. Now one of those agents is trying to give Cam a bad image, and all of a sudden, this agent is a total bastard. Like Token said in another thread, I don't buy any of this bullshit either, but all of the tinfoil hat wearing AU fans who had a field day with other rumors or situations concerning Alabama are getting a little dose of their own medicine.
Surely even you can tell the difference in these two situations.
Marcell Darius was beyond a doubt, and by his own admission, involved with an agent. He attended the parties in South Florida for star college football players held by an NFL agent. Marcell should have known better. I stand by that today. Saban absolved Dareus of all blame while in the same breath expressing his disgust with those "pimps".
What has Auburn fans livid right now is that everyone that is not completely delusional can see that Newton and Auburn were not involved in this. Auburn knew about this back in July and looked into it. Cecil Newton cooperated completely by turning in financial statements. Auburn and the NCAA knew all of this and played him anyway, and will play him on Saturday. Because some shithead claims that he made dealings WITH MSU on Cam's behalf, when all evidence points to Cam and his family having no knowledge, and certainly having received no payment for it, Cam and the Auburn family is being dragged through the mud.
You wouldn't see this rage from Auburn fans if in the back of our minds we thought Cam really did break an NCAA rule. What has us enraged is that these non-stories have gained national attention as if they have any validity whatsoever, when clearly they don't.
