Am I a pussy if I'm happy, nervous, and skeered all at the same time? Here's the thing for the Choppers, et al. Yeah, being #1 is all great. It's great pub you can't buy any other way. It's reward for the players. It's all y'all say it is...but until you hold the crystal football, it's fleeting. Until they put #1 beside the 2010 Auburn Tigers in the record books, until there's a Wikipedia page for the 2010 Auburn Tigers, until it's permanent #1 ranking for the 2010 season...it's not permanent. Some really good teams have already been #1 this year. Auburn, Oklahoma, Oregon. And, quite frankly, for some of us that have been around a while, we've experienced disappointment in many ways when we got this close. '83, '93, 2004. I don't think anyone disagrees with this at all.

I hear ya, but here's where there might be a little disconnect. I don't believe that we've won ANYTHING. We've got a ways to go.

However, I'm not so far removed from a 5-8 season, that we shouldn't be pround as FUCK for the players, staff and everyone else that have poured their heart and soul into getting where we are today.

To "hope" we aren't #1, because of simply an unlucky streak by a few prior teams? I get that to a point, but I STILL think that's kind of a cop out, or pussy type position. Just my opinion.

This doesn't mean that we've reached the pinnacle of anything. It doesn't mean that we've accomplished anything in the world of college football, but damn if it doesn't feel good to have EARNED a #1 ranking out of 125 teams after what we've gone through the last few years.

Excuse me, I believe in what you've said here JR, don't get me wrong, but I'm excited, and proud right now.

Let's just hope the team is focused for Saturday night.
