Cam Newton named O'Brien Quarterback Of The Week
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:51:26 PM »
Quote
FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior Cam Newton has been named the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week after leading the Auburn Tigers to a 35-27 victory over 12th-ranked South Carolina.

The 6-6, 250-pound signal caller from College Park, Ga. had an impressive evening, completing 16 of 21 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 176 yards and three scores to help the Tigers overcome a 20-7 deficit.

Newton has demonstrated his versatility and athleticism throughout the first four games of the season. In addition to leading the Tigers in total offense, he ranks first in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in rushing and passing efficiency (182.46).

"You can just read Cam's numbers and they speak for themselves," said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. "He is a competitor. Cameron is a very humble guy who just comes to work every day. I think he is getting better as a quarterback and a team leader and a guy who can manage our offense every week."

Auburn (4-0, 2-0 SEC) will try to keep their perfect record in tact this weekend when they take on Louisiana-Monroe at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

The list of recognition continues to grow. What I am loving so much is the fact that this guy has remained so humble and acted like he has not accomplish anything yet. He has not raised himself at all, instead when asked how he has been able to do the things he is doing, He just said "I'm just following behind those big nasties".

I have to ask the hypothetical. Does Cam get this award if Robinson doesn't get hurt for Michigan? I was watching that game and he was well on his way to another 400-500 yards of total offense easily.

Yeah, he got hurt in the first quarter and was raping Bowling Green's D. Had close to 200 yards I believe in less than a quarter.

I can say that if it is plays like this, I would say not this week especially since we played a ranked opponent and not Bowling Green.

I was thinking the very same thing. It could be a pic of Cam slamming a fball onto Bryant Denny Stadium.

I'll never forget the first time I came to know Cameron Newton. Posting on the former aunation.com site, I got several responses to an inquiry into the possibility of having Cameron Newton as our QB this year. That was December 16, 2009. Well, history is being made as we speak, and now the whole country knows Cameron Newton.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

If you would have told me when I woke up this morning that I would read a quote from the Bible from Saniflush today, I would have wanted a hit off the shit you're smoking.  Is there a full moon out or something?
