After all the Flash Gordon soundtrack talk, I had to get the movie - am watching it right now...

Campy as hell...but totally AWESOME!!!!  The 1980's caliber special effects make this movie even better.  And the costumes... amazing... a drag queen's fantasy come to life.

Max von Sydow was perfect as Ming the Merciless. 

The Hawkmen Theme kicks ass.  They are my favorite part...

flash gordon teh roxxor.  the skirt has never watched it.  i've got it on the dvr.  my 5 year old and i watched it before the tigers took the field. 

i've got a flash gordon t-shirt on order.  no  underoos though, sorry wench.

i don't know why, but my favorite and most memorable part is on the moon arboria...the hidden creature...and the green blood.  intense.

I Wiki'd Sam Jones - he of the blond feather waves and GREAT body... He played a stud muffin with Bo Derek in "10" but because Flash was such a commercial bomb, he never got another leading role again.  He has played reoccurring characters in a few TV shows, and has been in a few bit parts in movies, but Flash ruined him.  However, as it obvious with the Xers, the movie is now a cult classic.

He still looks decent today.

Had to revive this thread because nobody has mentioned the greatest actor of all time BRIAN BLESSED!  BRIAN BLESSED! is capable of delivering such nuanced performances that he has his own TV Tropes page.
