« on: December 19, 2009, 04:27:37 PM »
Phillip Marshall was posting his "highlights of the season" awards and it made me think of some things that happened this year that are noteworthy.

If you want to add "yeah but we lost to Kentucky for the first time in 217 years"...start another thread, this one is for looking back at positives from this year.

Ben Tate rushed for 1,254 yards (so far), the 8th best single season performance in Auburn history.

Ben Tate now has 3,213 yards in his Auburn career, good for #5 on the Auburn all-time list, passing Stephen Davis, Brent Fullwood, Ronnie Brown, Kenny Irons, James Joseph, Stacy Danley, James Bostic, Lionel James, and Secdrick McIntyre in his move from #14 to #5 during the year.

Ben Tate has 22 career TDs, which ranks him #9 for Auburn running backs.

Ben Tate (07-09) joins Tommy Lorino (56-58), Bo Jackson (82, 83, 85), Stacy Danley (87, 88, 90), and Carnell Williams (01, 03, 04) as the only Auburn backs to lead the team in rushing for 3 seasons.

Chris Todd has 3,280 yards in his career, which is good for 10th all-time at Auburn.

Chris Todd has 26 career TD passes, good for #8 all-time at Auburn.

Chris Todd's 5 TD passes tied the record for the most in a single game.

Chris Todd's 2,377 yards is the 5th best single season yardage total.

Chris Todd's 21 TD passes puts him at #1 for single season TDs, just in front of Jason Campbell and Pat Sullivan.

Darvin Adams' 48 receptions ties him for 9th in a single season (with Frank Sanders and Tyrone Goodson).

Darvin Adams' 855 receiving yards is the 5th best single season performance.

Darvin Adams' 10 TD catches is the 3rd best single season performance (Just behind Terry Beasley's two best years)

Terrell Zachery's 19.4 yards per catch (minimum 20 receptions) is the 7th best in Auburn history.

Terrell Zachery's 93 yard TD catch is the longest in Auburn history.

Wes Byrum's 230 career points ties him for 5th all-time.

Wes Byrum's 42 career FGs made ties him for 4th all-time with Al Del Greco.

Wes Byrum's career .736 FG % is good for 4th all-time.

Wes Byrum's 91 points this year is the 2nd most all-time at Auburn.

Wes Byrum's 14 made FGs this year is good for a tie at #10 for a single season.

Wes Byrum's 93.3 % this year is the best single season performance ever at Auburn.  Who knew?

Tate and McCalebb set an Auburn record for both having back-to-back 100 yard performances.
