The Heisman Trophy Curse...will it strike again?

The Heisman Trophy Curse...will it strike again?
« on: December 13, 2009, 12:23:02 AM »
I remember there being this thing about Heisman winners going on to have cursed NFL careers and also something about losing MNC games, so I did some research.

In the past 30 years, only one Heisman winner went on to win the MNC when their team was playing for it, and that was Danny Wuerffel. Also in that same time frame, more then half the teams with a Heisman Trophy winner have lost their bowl games. No Heisman winner since 2000 has one the BCS NC (Reggie Bush, Eric Crouch, Jason White, and Chris Weinke... See More) and only two have even won their bowl games (Carson Palmer and Matt Leinert).

So, a question to my UAT friends...if you knew for sure that the curse would hit your team this year, would you rather UAT win a MNC or would you rather lose it and UAT keep their first Heisman Trophy winner? A interesting question to ponder.

They'd rather have the Crybaby Trophy (formerly known as the Heisman).  Because in their ignorant and arrogant minds they'd think that they'll have no problem in getting back to the MNC game next season.

Didn't Matt Leinart win in 2004?  USC obliterated Oklahoma for the BCS championship trophy that year.

I've been cursing non-stop since about 3:30.

Christmas traffic with idiots.

Sitting in a left hand turn lane at the mall... eleven cars in front of me.  Nobody in the right turn lane.  So I say fuck it, I'll go right and make a big ass circle.  But when I get to the right hand turn, nobody's coming.  So I cut around left in front of the douche who's apparently waiting until he can see no cars in either direction before he finally creeps out there.  Horns blare.

Get to the redlight to get out of there.  I can see the redlight.  But there is a crossing road where cars coming turn in front of you to get to the lot and others coming from an adjacent mall area are also trying to cross.  So i get behind Captain Courtesy.  He's waving everybody over.  People streaming out of the right side in front of this douche and heading right to the light.  Cars pouring from the left and cutting in front of him to make the other side.  He just keeps waving.  A dozen or more go by while he gallantly waves them on.  I see the light change.  Twice.

So he gets the horn.

What's the record for continuous horn blaring?  Because I hit it so long it started to warble.  He's still happily excusing himself so others can get across.

Fuck them. Fuck that.  I see a sliver of light, cut right, horn still bleating, cut off some fuck coming from the right side, cut in front of him.  He's still goonily waving people over.  He waves me over.  I wave back in my own special way.

What was this topic about again?

Bammers are already printing NC shirts and painting their cars with 2009 NC Winners across the side.

Looking forward to this game.

Next time, take a picture.  I'm sure Mack Brown would enjoy getting a copy in a Christmas card.

In the BCS era, the Heisman winner is 1-7 in the championship game following winning the award. The one winner was Matt Leinart in 2004.

He shouldn't have been either.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

That 2004 USC team was special on every side of the ball. Leinart had a big year and a big championship game.

I know who you wanted in the game, but who did you want to win the Heisman in 2004?

So Cadillac was a less impressive runningback in 2004 than Ingram was this year?

Carnell Williams '04 stats are not Heisman worthy that year or any year.

2004    13games    239 carries    1,165 yards    4.9 average 36 long    89.6 avg./game    12 TD

Yeah, I forgot about Leinart in 2004, which is understandable since it should have counted as another loss for the Heisman if the right team would have been playing against USC that year.

All the turd fans on my FB got all tore up about the question and claimed I was just a jealous "barner". I informed them that it was the ESPN crew talking about the curse that reminded me of it and then the next day the CBS NFL team mentioned the curse, so they all must be jealous also. They are a little bitter for some reason, so I guess I was asking to much for an intelligent conversation from them.

Also, why do Turds think the term "barner", or any variation of "barn" used in reference to us, bothers us? However, several of them got pissed off that I called them UAT.

I have noticed this. It's really quite phenomenal.

You'd think they'd be happy at this juncture, but they are more irritable and angry than I can recall. I guess it's because we're not all bowing at their feet as they expect from us...
