Anybody own a guitar shop?

Anybody own a guitar shop?
« on: June 24, 2009, 04:49:27 PM »
I need some help from somebody in the guitar business. Our house got broken into about a month ago and the thieves stole my '92 American Deluxe Strat HSS. I reported it to my homeowner's insurance and after all was said and done, they gave me a whopping $177 for it after $1500 depreciation. I need a little help from somebody in the business with buying another guitar.

You need replacement coverage.

Can you appeal their valuation?

$1,500.00 for depreciation?  On an American Strat?  First off, you can buy a brand new American for a couple hundred either side of a grand depending on where you go.  Got mine at Arts Music a couple of years ago for about $950.00.  Second, at some point those things should start appreciating in value.

This insurance adjuster is obviously a techno-music loving homo and has no understanding or appreciation for real music or the instruments with which it is played.  You sir, got bent over by this homo and your anal cavity reamed accordingly.  Change companies..Wes style sharpish and part ways with a well written letter detailing the said anal reamage.

Thats where I need the help. It says in my policy that I can defer the valuation to an "Unbiased Umpire" I think thats like a mediator and the company (Allstate) will take the pictures I presented them and get an independent Fender dealer to appraise it and I can do the same. The info would be sent to the "umpire" and an value agreement somewhere in between can possibly be reached.

The actual replacement for a new american deluxe hss strat is well over $1600.

One would think the good hands people would at least have the decency to give you a reach around before/during the penetration.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I'd definitely appeal.  If you need assistance, I'd be happy to look at your policy for you.

Sorry to hear about that crap.  My brother's guitar got broken courtesy of Delta Air Lines last July; it wasn't until a few months ago that he reached a satisfactory settlement after heaps of rigmarole; he bought another guitar in the meantime.  He had a Gibson (not sure what model) and bought a new one while waiting on Delta to pay him for the old one.

Sucks.

Listen to the learned, Wes.

For a small fee, of course.

I deal with these folks a good bit.

Not like trying one out first, but, if you know what you want to start with, they have good prices. You can also return with them real easy if you are not satisfied.
