Vote Chizik - Mayor of Football

Vote Chizik - Mayor of Football
« on: January 06, 2009, 05:48:16 PM »
Has this guy got some contacts or what?

I believe it's becoming apparent that Chizik had a tough setting at Iowa St.  5-19 might be more of a representation of Cyclones football instead of Chizik's ineptitude of coaching.  He not only didn't get his players, but he obviously couldn't get the coaches he wanted.  What hire has he made that hasn't put a smile on your face?  Somehow, the head captain of the sinking sailboat has reeled in established coaches who are known for recruiting.  I don't think this up and coming coaches would be leaving their jobs for Auburn if they didn't believe something special was going to happen.

Get excited, guys.  We might not blitzkrieg college football like Bama did with Saban, but I honestly believe we're in the beginnings of a long, consistent period of success with Auburn football.

if he is mayor does that mean he can no longer serve as coach? If so can you add Jacobs to the ticket as deputy mayor?

He's made some seemingly great hires, but time will tell if he can make the proper in-game choices needed.

I agree..for the most part.  Ted Roof did not put a smile on my face.  Yes, Chizik is a defensive guru but I still did not grin when that name was announced.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

I agree counsel. The other hires were decent, nothing to complain about, but Ted Roof does not make me all warm and fuzzy on the inside. Chizik is the head coach and is not going to be able to spend all his time with the defense.

Like AWK said, before we get all excited, let's see how this season plays out. I am supportive, but I am going to be skeptical for the first time in a long time when an AU season gets ready to start. I have some concerns about Chizik, not really all  about his coaching, but if he is going to be a Lowder/Jacobs yes man, because there are way too many rumors about him practically begging for the job. If CGC shows me he is going to run the team and not the PTBs, I will start being a bit more optimistic.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
