The boy is good. But terrible attitude.
We've just gotten to the point, (F that, been there forever) where contracts mean squat. I may be in the minority, wait, I'm a white male. Check that. But, I never be begrudgin' players gettin' they money. The simple fact of the matter is, they wouldn't pay these guys in any professional sport, if the money wasn't there and flowing like the mighty Mississip. The cash is going to go somewhere and I have no problem with a good chunk going to the product on the field...or court.
The problem with Elliott and others in his position, is he is bound to what the NFL says he can get when signing a rookie deal. Just like Dak Prescott. Unless the team wants to negotiate, some players are locked into contracts that are 10% or 27/345ths of their true value to the franchise. Elliott decided to say he'd rather sit it out and lose that salary. Prescott looks as if he said I'll trust them to take care of me and play through my contract. The Cowboys will most likely get a new deal done for him sooner than later.
