The front row has 3 Montgomery boys next to each other. #6 Trotman. #8 Jerry Beasley #9 Alan Bollinger
Bollinger punted one, maybe 2 years at AU. I was surprised he didn't play baseball at Auburn. I played against him for many years and the big, tall lefty could flat out hit.
#5 is Joe Sullivan, who I believe was the younger brother of Pat. I could...I say I could be wrong.
Yeah. Joe was his younger brother.
Joe was still on the team Dye's first year. Don't think he started the game against Alabama, but I could swear he was in late. That was the game we had them on the ropes but Linnie Patrick racked up more yards than he had IQ points on a pair of fourth quarter runs to put the stake in that scrappy team.
Maybe Ken Hobby was the QB that started.
If you watch the highlights, I think you'll see Auburn running the Wildcat that Gus hadn't invented yet with Clayton Beauford coming in at QB too.
That game also featured Walter Lewis -- who would have won a Heisman in a 2010-2013 Gus offense.
That game was one of the best losses I can ever remember. When that game was over, I knew we had something special. The fight in that team gave me hope.
