More basketball related, but move it or sue me. I don't care despite what the sign out front says.
I have never been a fan of ESPN's, Screamin' A. Smith. Not because of his views, but the abrasive, loud delivery. I know it's his schtick but it's always chaffed my undies. Lately, ESPN has given him more of a prominent role in actual games and broadcasting rather than him just being an opinion mouthpiece. He had a huge part in the recent NBA playoffs and when he's not taking on his screaming, in your face persona and is discussing sports calmly and rationally, he's not too bad. So speaking of the NBA, I caught this little blurb about NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, saying they were no longer going to use the term, "Owner" when talking about the....well....owners. Yep, you guessed it. It could be deemed offensive in a league where 75% of the players are black. Stephen A's response:
"It's my house! I own it! I don't own you, but I own it! The idiocy! Politically correct world we're living in. We have to literally have a discussion to the point it becomes a media story line. Oh my God! An owner says he owns his team, that's offensive to people. Y'all are smoking crack!" he said. "Something is wrong with you people. What the hell has this world come to?!"
Thank you, Screamin' A.
