The struggle is real
« on: October 11, 2018, 10:22:21 AM »
Yes, many of our wounds are self-inflicted.  But it doesn't help when this is what we get from the state's media.

Take Joseph Goodman of al.com.  Please.

Yesterday he penned an ode to Bama classlessness and equated those rednecks playing "Dixieland Delight" with Auburn's eagle flight.  No, equated isn't the right word.  His claim is braying that song surpassed the eagle flight in the tradition category.

Quote
The University of Alabama hasn't gotten much wrong over the past decade when it comes to football, but ending one of the greatest in-game traditions in all of sports was a colossal failure.  than "Sweet Caroline" at Boston Red Sox games. It was a better tradition, some would argue, than Auburn's pregame Eagle Flight.
I found that offensive and told him so.

Here is a list of some of the last  pieces he's written:

1. Should Gus bench Stidham
2. Overpaid coach, overbilled team
3. Time for Malzahn to start earning contract
4. Tua has jokes and perspective
5. It's time to lower expectations on Auburn
6. Time is running out on Auburn's offense
7. Tua fever is here!
8. Why is Auburn losing so many players?
9.  Don't read this column if you want to avoid Alabama rat poison
10.  Malzahn is 0 for Coach O.
11. What's a fun football weekend like for the family of Tua?

Sense a theme?

You were in media.  It’s about viewers, hits, ratings and playing to your audience. This is no exception. Bama is most of the state whether we like it or not. And that’s most of his audience. And talking about those topics are what plays to his audience best and gets the most clicks.

He still sucks pus-addled dicks, but I was under the mistaken impression that Goodman was one of our beat writers.

I miss the days when the orange knights of NTY would just run these assclowns off.
