Chip Lindsey wants to open up Auburn's passing game more in 2017, and it won't just be limited to the receiving corps.

That figure is set to change this season under Lindsey, whose top two running backs at Arizona State last season -- Kalen Ballage and Demario Richard -- combined for 61 receptions and 605 receiving yards last season. The year prior, when Lindsey was at Southern Miss, Lindsey's top two backs -- Ito Smith and Jalen Richard -- caught a combined 79 passes for 799 yards and five touchdowns while both also eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark.

The threat from the backfield only makes the rest of the pass game more effective. This should have been a staple for Gushlee but they opted to effectively make it tougher on White and JJ.
