Yeah, I didn't agree with this one either. This was all about those in the pockets of the ISPs who want to expand their revenue out by marketing. To me there is no good justification for this. Privacy is privacy. You can thank Google for setting the tone years ago by saying privacy was just a fad. Thanks Larry Page.

Yuuuup.

Despicable.

You can see here exactly how much ISPs were donating to Senators to get this done. We can't let this happen. THIS is something worthy of getting outraged about.

Was very disappointed in people like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Also Mike Lee.

But was pleased to see Justin Amash and a few others in Congress who are on the GOP side say NO.

I think it comes down to what you said - these guys are getting a lot of lobby money from Comcast and AT&T, and there are hundreds of millions of dollars at stake here for their advertising/data collection segments.

Sad part is this pretty much goes on today and has for while via Google, and more recently Facebook. And I didn't agree with those either but at least with those you had a choice not to use them. You don't have much choice with your ISP - you log on, you are using it. They can see everything. Including your SSN.

Amash is all I have left to have any degree of faith in.

You sure about that one?  He wasn't on the list.  Thomas Massie is who I was most disappointed in.

The House, not the Senate, voted on it. Paul co-sponsored the bill.

Ohhh, ok.  Yeah that is definitely disappointing then.  I haven't really kept up with this, just saw it making some noise the past couple of days.

Is Amash the only decent Congressman left?

215 Republicans voted for this. 190 (all) Democrats and 15 Republicans voted against it.

These are the 15 Republicans.

Mo Brooks for the win.

Aut1 - with how much the big Internet Giants give most of these guys some of them almost had no choice but to vote yea. This is bad side of getting campaign contributions.

McClintock also should have beaten Arnold in that governor race a decade ago. He was good then and is good now.

Looks like YouPorn & PornHub are fighting against this. Never thought porn sites would have more interest in the privacy of American citizens than most Republicans.
