We r at them.
Two things that may or may not happen are going to have a huge impact on the immediate future of Auburn footballz. First and most importantly in my opinion...is Muschamp going to take a position elsewhere, whether it be a head coaching job or the rumored move to Georgia? And if so, would he take T-Rob with him?
Second, how many of our underclassmen will declare for the draft?
We're losing several key contributors to graduation in Lambert, Cass, Frost, Countess etc. But what if guys like Lawson, Montravelocity, Young and Coleman decide to bolt? Not to be Debbie Downer, but IMO, all 4 will most likely declare. I know that Young said after last season, he wanted to hear from scouts what he needed to work on to be NFL ready after this year. As for Lawson, I wouldn't risk another year of injuries. He's such a physical freak, he can work out for teams and maybe get as high as the late 2nd or early 3rd round. I'm no Mel Kiper, though.
I think it was obvious that the D was finally starting to get it from the mid point in the season. Still undermanned with injuries and overall lack of depth, they played more than well enough to beat both Georgia and Bama had our offense done squat. You could see Muschamp's effect and I really want to see us get at least another year in his system. If he goes, would that have the same effect on our recruiting as it did Florida's when he left? Recruiting for us is really starting to come around, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Would those guys stick?
I really believe if Muschamp stays and we're not hit too hard with early defections, 2016 could be a big time turn around. Given Gus' history, you know this year's offense was absolutely the exception and not the norm. He'll get the right QB in there and get it rolling again. And if the D continues it's momentum into next year with some added depth, it could be a fun year. If Will heads out of town, do the dominos start falling?
