I'm gonna' go the other direction here. I have no problem with 3 of the top 4. ND is the one that I really question.
Clemson: Undefeated. Beat the Golden Homos and FSU. Are they #1? Meh, doesn't matter. They're top 4 and as deserving as any of them.
THE Ohio State University: Have they played a tough schedule to this point? Nope. Nobody is going to argue they have. The reality is that when they went to a playoff committee, they brought the human element back into play. Remember the polls? You absolutely, 100% cannot avoid having "the eye test" and some bias involved in ranking these teams. tOSU is the defending MNC. They haven't lost since like the first game of LAST YEAR. Beating Alabama and crushing a Duck is still fresh on people's minds. Honestly, if I was on the committee, I'd have them top 4 too.
TURDS: As much as I hate it, I think they're a top 4 team and have as good a resume as anybody right now. Yes, they lost to OM. But, the reality here is you can't say the SEC and particularly the West is the greatest conference in the history of the world and then discount a team completely because they slipped up once. Are the fighting Blackbars a top 10 team? Nope. But damn talented across the board and if you cough it up 5 times against them, you will lose 96% or 274/296th of the time. Still kept it to 6 points. Otherwise, they've beaten a top 25 Cheeseheads, curb stomped Georgia in Athens when they were undefeated and top 10, and bitch slapped the #2 rated team with a back that had run for 4,521 yards.
As for Okie State: Did they just stick a foot up the ass of Boykin and the toads? Absolutely! I watched it and they looked good....that game. So, if you're on the committee, is that enough to put them in or near the top 4? Not if I'm on it.
Central Michigan
Central Arkansas
UTSA Roadrunners
Texas (won by 3)
KSU (won by 2)
WVU (won by 7)
Kansas
Texas Tech (won but allowed 53 points)
TCU
Can you really look at that schedule and results and say they're kept out by bias?
Baylor: Eye test says they're the new Oregon. Schedule says the teams they've played are a combined 27-49.
