Orange Legs
« on: September 08, 2015, 11:01:30 AM »
Okay, now that we've seen them worn for a real game, what's your take on the orange shoes and socks/leggings/whatever they are?  My thoughts are they were okay for a game, but don't mess with the greatest uni's in college football too much.  Auburn is one of the few left that have stayed true to the traditional schemes.  Yes, they've made subtle changes just about every year and I really didn't think the orange looked bad at all Saturday.  Just don't want that to be more than an every now and then thing.

Yay?  Nay?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

As long as they were organic, the leggings and footings made no difference to me.

I agree...don't fuck around with the uniform too much.  Louisville's uniforms were an abortion gone bad.

The new and improved Orange helmet stripe did nothing to enhance my viewing experience.

No doubt.  Speaking of abortions and maybe, placenta...anyone notice that Maryland is still wearing that...I honestly don't know how to describe what that is.  Who designed that, took a step back and said, "Damn, that looks good."?

I liked them, what people don't realize is that the kids want this stuff, its part of recruiting (like it or not) you have to be willing to change up some things.

I thought they looked great on the TV's.

Like Nook said the helmet stripe looked no different, but I did like the old leg stripes back.

I thought it looked cool but don't want changes to creep any higher up the unis.

Unfortunately, the smallest change begins a slippery slope and creates precedent. For more on that, visit the SGA forum.

I disagree. (hehe)

True to AU form in the last 20 years, the coaches seem to let the players do something a bit different with the shoes and socks. Remember when the players came out in all black shoes and socks? GASP!

So this is just Gus' way of saying, "I'll let them have a little something".

But we still stayed traditional.

BTW. If they don't use the orange shoes again, what happens to them? Does each player sign his and they auction them off?

If so, I would like to find a pair out there for Snags...signed DAX!

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Listen, I have enough trouble making good points without the likes of you coming along and proving them patently false. The black shoes/socks combo was rad by the way. They should've made that the standard uniform.
