It's beating your biggest rival. It's having bragging rights for 24/7/365. The rivalry thing is what makes college football so much better than any other sport.

It's not *finally* beating them, not anymore. Not since Fear The Thumb. Now it's just plain BEATING THEM. We are their match, their equal, and they can't deny it, ancient history and dead coaching messiahs be damned.

Yes, I'd love to win a Natty every year. But you simply AREN'T going to do that every year. Too many variables -  like we win the SEC and still need tOSU to lose to get to the last NCG. Whereas beating your hated fucktarded inbred rivals is ALWAYS a possibility. Is always an obtainable goal. And has lasting repercussions.

I was working in Sears Tool & Hardware half way through graduate school. Missed about 3 years of football in that time span.

Watched the Kick 6 game again last night.  I got goose bumps on my inner thighs.  Me, Snagette and Mini Snags were all in JHS that night and all 3 of us were glued to the tube last night at the end.  (Kind of kinky thing we like to do as a family)  I still don't know if it has set in how big that was. The Iron Bowl was prime time.  It was #4 against #1.  It was for the West, Atlanta and maybe a birth in the BCS.  It was one of the wildest plays, wildest endings and wildest scenes afterward in the history of college football. It was the rest of the country becoming huge Auburn fans for a little while and wishing they could ever be a part of something like that.

Watching what some of the different schools chose to show over the last week speaks volumes about where certain programs are.  For instance, Mississippi State showed what aldot I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!!  I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others.  I like male genatalia in and around my mouth. calls the biggest win in Dan Mullens' career.  Last year's victory over an 8-5 Auburn team.

WT mentioned the 89' Iron Bowl.  Was present and accounted for.  Greatest game I've ever witnessed and most likely always will be.  First time we ever got Bama in JHS.  Top ranked Turds.  If you weren't there, you can't grasp the concept that this was the loudest crowd at any sports venue...evah!  Heard later that the sideline announcers on the telecast said they had been to every venue in sports and this was off the charts.  Couldn't hear themselves talk.  It could be 2nd quarter....Bama with the ball at their own 36....2nd and 7....6 point game.  About as mundane a situation as you can get in a football game.  The Bama QB is calling time out because he can't fucking hear.  This was 4 hours of mayhem and we WERE NOT GOING TO LOSE!!!!  This is the Iron Bowl. This is years of frustration.  This is "You're in our house now, bitch."

No MNC game could ever match that.  And if Bama fans want to hold on to the "I'd rather win a MNC"...than an atmosphere like that...the best rivalry in all of sports...period.  Then YOU....DON'T....GET...IT.

I was straight behind you.  In the sky box.  The ONLY drawback to being in there that day was that I couldn't really appreciate the crowd noise.  That, and I didn't blow navy and orange shaker haze from my nose the next week like many of my friends.
