"I am down to three: West Virginia, Mississippi State, and LSU," he said. "They are in no particular order. I have narrowed it to three, but I still want to go to all three."Mississippi State was late getting in on White, but has made good strides toward gaining his signature."They were late, since they just got new coaching staff, but Coach (Freddie) Kitchens, he's a really nice guy," he said.Although an Alabama native, Pat said he did not know much about Coach Kitchens' days at Alabama, since he did not grow up a fan of either Alabama or Auburn. He did, however, cheer for two schools; one of which has made his final cut.

He has a number of ties to Alabama including ex-teammates Jeremy Clarkand Atlas Herrion, and cousin Wallace Gilberry. Herrion is also a cousin. He recently had an in-home visit with Tide head coach Mike Shula."It was nice. I enjoyed meeting with him," White explained. "Alabama is a nice school with a big tradition. They started out recruiting me as a wide receiver but now they are saying quarterback."
LSU head coach Nick Saban was also a recent visitor."I really enjoyed him," White said. "He's very serious about what he does. Coach Saban enjoys what he's doing and I wouldn't mind playing for him. They are recruiting me as a wide receiver."

Tide assistant Buddy Wyatt is recruiting White for the Tide and the two have developed a good relationship."I really like and respect Coach Wyatt a lot," White said. "He's a nice guy and he wants me to go to Alabama and step in as a wide receiver. I could play early there and that's one of the things I'm looking for in a college."

Look for the Alabama staff to turn up the heat on Daphne High School quarterback/athlete Patrick White. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Mobile, Alabama native is having a sensational senior campaign, leading Daphne to a perfect 14-0 record and a berth in the Class 6A state championship game against 13-1 Hoover this Saturday. This season, White has rushed for 1,773 yards with 30 touchdowns and passed for 1,433 yards and 14 Touchdowns. Alabama has offered and is pushing hard for a commitment. White is also receiving serious attention from Ole Miss and a host of other southeastern schools. White is a versatile athlete and could play any number of positions at the collegiate level.
That pretty much sums it up,
he committed to LSU and Coach sabbin on Jan. 26th 2004, then switched to West Virginia on signing day.
There's a pretty good chance that White was talking about LSU & sabbin (along with NCAA President Mark "blind eye" Emmert) offering him the 'Vette.
