Was listening to an early morning sports talk show recently while travelling which profiled great calls throughout the history of sports, predominantly baseball and football and the key according to the host is that the color man have the ability to envision or anticipate the events taking place before they actually occur. The other key is that the play analyst STFU when it happens. Obviously Verne blew the moment and Gary was Gary. I never heard them anyway because I was standing next to my boy Ricardo in the endzone.
Are you black? And did you hug a white man in the endzone? Because I may have met you.
Speaking of Gary/Verne. I haven't seen it, but I also heard he complained about holding not being called on that play.
And finally, I heard the UGA call of the same play. Their announcers were, to their credit, much more professional and less biased than Verne "Soulja" Lundquist.
I will never, ever, ever forgive that rotund mass of beef fat for dancing in the booth during the UGA blackout game. I looked for him yesterday and if I could have found his blubbering ass, I would have let him know on no uncertain terms how I felt.
