They're mostly northern midwest.  I would say they are equivalent to Bass Pro, right down to the in store aquariums.

Don't own a lot of fishing gear except tons of stuff for pan fishing.  99% (or 6/8ths) of the salt water fishing I do is by charter so I don't need much of anything there.  But, I keep wanting to get into surf fishing, which I'm sure I wouldn't do more than 2-3 times a year.  Any suggestions for a reliable, but not too pricey, rig I could look at?

The only time I've done any surf casting I just used my longest bass rod (7'6") loaded with 30 pound braided line with a mono leader.  I know the east coast striper guys use anywhere from 8' to 11' rods.  The real important thing you need for surf casting is an old school CJ jeep with a surf rod rack on the front.

yo snags,  i'll shoot you a PM ...surf fishing the OBX is/was a family outing each year sometimes twice. hittin' the drum and blues.
