Kids and Acid Bombs
« on: August 15, 2013, 03:24:45 PM »
So three juveniles were arrested yesterday for leaving homemade acid bombs in a WalMarks parking lot here in the upscale burb where I work.

Quote
Three boys have been taken into custody in connection with a rash of acid bomb incidents in The Woodlands that injured a resident.

Several tips from the public led Montgomery County fire investigators to the juveniles last weekend, who were seen on store surveillance footage buying materials used to make the nine improvised explosive devices, according to Fire Marshal Jimmy Williams.

Investigators located nine acid bombs near the western edge of The Woodlands in the area of FM 2878 and Woodlands Parkway. Evidence was recovered at the scenes.

A resident suffered minor injuries when he picked up one of the devices and it exploded, Williams said. He "saw a bottle and reached down to pick it up and it went off in his hand."

The devices were made from small plastic bottles filled with chemicals and foil or metal objects. A chemical reaction occurs when the devices are shaken and thrown, resulting in the violent rupture of the plastic containers.

The juvenile suspects have been referred to the Montgomery County Justice Center.

"The investigation will continue to determine if others were involved," Williams stated in a press release.

In addition to whatever happens to them in court, their parents also need to take action.  These three are just chilluns, and I'm sure they didn't mean to do it.  They have to be very good kids from very good families, as this is a very affluent suburb (I mean, the lawyer who cares even has family that lives in The Woodlands, and we know he's stinking filthy rich)  No one was seriously injured so I think their punishment needs to be carefully considered.

So, carefully considering, if you are their parent, do you pull the nails out of the two by four before you beat them with it or not?  Or do you just use an ax handle and call it happy?

These days I look at this in the context of "Oh, shit what if this was my kid?"  I know that it used to be that the juvies were just that - juvies.  The bad kid, the bad seed, the rotten apple from the broken home full of drug users and alcoholics.  But these days, it seems that any kid, no matter how they are raised, can be the bad kid - from learning and doing shit off the internet to Jackass movies to just being bored or having working parents who can't supervise 24/7 - it doesn't take much for something bad to happen and their lives be ruined before they start.  Good homes, good parents, smart kids - it doesn't seem to matter anymore.  Just makes me even more paranoid about mine than ever, even though I know they are being raised right.

I just sent a text out The Woodlands way.  I read this and thought, Naaaaa......wait, maybe.  I better check.

They have a 14 year old who will do anything, try anything and has no fear of injury or repercussions.

I know we live in a different time now but a vendor and I were talking about this just the other day.  My ass would have been put under the jail for all the pipe bombs and homemade napalm I made as a kid.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Maybe so, but did you ever make one and leave it in a local store's parking lot knowing that it could blow up and hurt someone or damage property?

Doing this at home and maybe getting the cops called on you by a neighbor because you blow up a fence -that's kids being kids.

Doing what they did, where they did it?  No way did they not know what they were doing.

Well no but we didn't live in town.  Not condoning them at all just knowing that I would have been thrown under the jail these days just with the stuff I did.

I've talked about being the keeper of the cul-de-sac and going all Zimmerman on anyone who drives past my house at night.  We had what turned out to be a couple young guys, about 16-17 going down to the end of the road and blowing up moltov cocktails.  Finally saw who I thought it was and got the tag number in case they came back.  Sure enough, they did.  This time I saw them blow it up.  Caught the grass on fire as they sped out of the neighborhood.  I called the Tokens and there were several Token-mobiles and two fire trucks that came out there.  Stayed down there for over an hour, I assume collecting evidence.

Long story short, with reference to what Sani was saying, in talking with one of the officers and giving them the tag number, he said they may think it was kids being kids but this now falls into the area of terrorist activities.  I was like, "Whoa, I used to blow up mailboxes and shit with M-80's.  I'm not trying to put these kids in jail.  Just don't want them down there anymore."  He did tell me they'd just put the fear of God in them and not much more, but the point being, you pull the shit we used to as kids, you just might wind up in Federal Pound-You-In-The-Ass Prison.

I'll say this. If your child ever gets mixed up in a prank(idiot decision) like this, NEVER TRUST THE AUTHORITIES!

If you want to beat the hell out of your kid, do it once you have gotten him off. The people in the DAs office only care about convictions and closing a case. The giveth a shitteth not for your child.

When we were growing up, you would have help form the authorities to teach a kid a lesson. Not today. The police know that they will be sued around every corner, so they turn everything over the DA. And  the DA does not care. The people in the juvenile court system are looking to get out of it as soon as they can. And to do that, they need to close cases and get convictions.

These boys need to shit beat out of them and they need be in the victim's yard cleaning up and cutting grass every day for a long time. But none of this will happen. They will get probation and no lesson will be learned. But the case will be closed!

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

From the Army/Navy store.

http://www.amazon.com/U-S-Army-Improvised-Munitions-Handbook/dp/1616083840/ref=pd_cp_b_0

And from the public library.

Just like these kids taking nekkid pics of themselves and sharing them is now distribution of child porn.  Throw in the zero tolerance by authorities that CCT mentioned and a kid gets no chance these days to fuck up and learn from his mistakes.  Stuff like that follows you forever now - and not everyone should be a felon at 15.

I'd say look at Uncle Sani blowing shit up at 15 and see how he turned out, but...well, that ain't the best of examples, if you know him like we do...
