To each his own.
Watching somebody sit on a stool and sing is not entertaining to me and hardly worth the price of a concert ticket. If they're just going to sit there I'd rather listen to the CD and not have to think about what they actually look like.
Concerts should be entertainment. Things should blow up. There should be fireworks, flames and confetti. People should dance with snakes, throw things into the audience. It should be an experience.
I once saw some relative of Harry Chapin (for all I know, might have been him) open for somebody. He sat on a stool with a guitar and sang for 45 minutes. I wanted to shoot him dead.
I was terribly disappointed with the Eagles reunion tour way back when because all they did was sit on stage and sing. And they played Hotel California early in the set, like within the first five songs.
Not saying every band has to be KISS or Crue or even Pink, Katy Perry or Brittney but if I'm going to pay 60 and up for a seat at their show, I want them off their seats and doing something interesting.
