Had Auburn not gone full retard in the last 5-6 minutes of the Ole Miss game, they win.  While Ole Miss has improved over last year, they still have a way to go before they compete for anything.  With that said, I don't think that Vanderbilt has the talent Ole Miss has; and Ole Miss has no talent.  Auburn can win this game.  But do they really want to?  I think the most dangerous thing about Vandy right now is that they believe that they can win.  They smell blood in the water, and beating Auburn is a big deal.  It will be close, but I think AU edges Vandy out on this one.  Just one goat fucker's opinion.

In reality would not one of the other teams have to really fuck up for us to win?

That's kinda what I meant...back in to one win.

Just looking back, and trying to figure out what they were thinking it does appear that the ULM offensive plan was in effect as far as the ratio of rush and pass (2:1). It didn't help giving up the surprise pass back to Wallace early on and then snapping the ball into the endzone for a TD which put us in a huge hole. Plus we never really stopped Scott.

And it's not as if we can win one in the crunch when we are outscored by opponents 62-3 in the 4th quarter.

I can't get past this paragraph from the pissed off Iowa State writer.

Quote
But when you consider the games that his Iowa State teams choked away against very beatable opponents these last two autumns, even better players might not have mattered. Because the players he had at Iowa State were collectively good enough to go .500 or better in each of his two seasons in Ames. He and his coaching staff were the problem, not the players. Had the coaches been as good as the players, ISU would have won more games. Even if the players were horrible - say 5-19 horrible - that still means that Chizik and his staff generated a grand total of zero wins with their talent. The players, of course, were not 5-19 horrible, which means the reality is that Chizik and staff cost Iowa State victories as opposed to making them happen.

Other than just blind optimism, what makes you even think that.

I really couldn't get over the number of folks who thought we would beat Ole Miss.  Have you been watching the same team I have?  There really is no basis to think we will beat anyone, because we have problems scoring points, and stopping folks on defense.  That is the basis of the game and we fail at it, on both sides.

Vanderbilt just took UF to the 4th Quarter at home.  I'm all for sunshines and unicorns, but this is a shit sandwich

We will lose to Vandy.
We're all gonna have to take a bite.

Rob Pate on the radio:

"If you keep this staff together you've got a chance at having four straight top ten classes."

What needs to be said:

There's no excuse for the performance AU is getting out of three straight top ten classes.  Will adding a fourth change the lack of development, the regression from many?

I watched a junior high game last night and aside from the sideways snap which was a beautiful thing, the rest of what I saw made me weep.  I saw linebackers scrape down the line and fill holes.  I saw scrawny little kids put a hat across the body and wrap people up.  I saw players in the open field break down facing a ball carrier, watch his hips and force him to commit ... and then make the play when he did.  I didn't see anybody diving at players in the open field hoping to maybe take their ankles out.  I saw a quarterback take the ball in the shotgun, take three steps and deliver the ball on the third.  I saw a junior high QB check down.  Crossing route wasn't open he checked to the deep post and it was covered so he went to the third option, a back that had flared out of the backfield. 16 yard gain, first down.  I saw a junior high QB recognize the fucking blitz and dish it off to the hot route underneath.  I saw a junior high QB step up to avoid rush from the corners when the pocket collapsed and then hit a receiver on a slant.

I saw good form. I saw disciplined play. I saw players who were usually in the right place and doing their jobs.  When they weren't where they were supposed to be or didn't wrap up or didn't make the right decision I saw coaches get on their ass and explain what they'd done wrong.

In short, I saw everything that Auburn football is currently NOT.  And it made my soul ache.

Agree. Whats the use of having 4 or 5 top 10 classes IF the talent dies when it gets here? Those recruiting rankings mean nothing if the head man is inept. Offensive skill players would line up to play for suitcase bobby who actually can coach them. Fact.

Why is that we watch tape of our recruits and they know how to tackle in HS.  Why is when they are on Special Teams play as TF they know how to tackle but after a year a or two, they don't?  It makes me wonder how much we honestly tackle at practice?

I've been saying that since game 1 of this year.  We can tackle like the Baltimore Ravens on special teams, but like the Little Giants on defense.
