You can't take credit for your own business

Holy crap.  He is delusional.

Quote
President Barack Obama addressed supporters in Roanoke, Virginia on Friday afternoon and took a shot at the business community. President Obama dismissed any credit business owners give themselves for their success:

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me -- because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t -- look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

Someone invested in roads and bridges?  Yeah, THAT BUSINESS OWNER DID WITH THE TAXES HE PAID FROM THAT BUSINESS!!!  Government research?  Again, TAX DOLLARS!!!

I just do NOT get how this guy is not only our president, but might get re-elected.  And people were applauding him!!  I WEEP for this country sometimes.

And what I hated most about this? If you watch the video, the condescending nature of the comments just piss me off.

All hard working business people - you did none of this. You don't really work hard. You know nothing, in fact. So screw you, you aren't special. And you don't really create jobs. Me and my gov't do. You are the enemy, not me.

That's pretty much what I heard between the lines. And seriously - what in the hell would he know about a business? The fucktard has never had a real job in the real world.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Regardless of political affiliation, how can you say with an honest face that a business owner "didn't build" his business?  Then who the fuck did, the business fairies?  I need to find these business fairies...

That sounds like a paragraph straight out of Atlas Shrugged. Something James Taggart would say.

Scary.

I'm not one to take everything somebody says and put it under a microscope, but damn. What was he thinking when he said that? That was literally one of the dumbest statements I have ever heard a president make. And as Wench said, what's scary is that this guy is more than likely going to get re-elected.

Everybody keep your KY handy, because we're fucked.

And it was moreso even the way he said. He meant it. It was a direct jab. This guy hates the private sector and people who succeed on their own. He hates the "haves", even if they did it on their own.
