More food for thought concerning... THE GREATEST GAME EVER TO BE PLAYED A quick check of the stats for each team against top 25 foes. Obviously top 25 when they played them. LSU has played 5 top 25 teams, Oregon, MSU, WVU, UF and Auburn. Bama has faced 3 in PSU, Arky and UF. LSU averaged 39 ppg and gave up 14.8 ppg.Bama averaged 34.3 ppg while giving up 11.6LSU had an average of 369 yards of total offense while yielding an average of 304Bama tallied 373 ypg while giving up 233.One game in particular kind of skewed the averages when LSU allowed over 530 yards against WVU. Both teams seem to be very consistent on offense, not overpowering, but consistently good. Bama never gives up anything on defense but haven't quite faced the same overall schedule as LSU. Coincidence? I think not.
One more thing to consider. LSU's redzone defense is one of the worst in the nation. In 16 attempts inside the redzone, opponents have score 9 touchdowns and 6 field goals. So basically, Bama moves inside the 20 on LSU and they are coming away with points.
Is it wrong that I want Tim Brando's face to melt like the guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark while he's doing the pre-game for THE GREATEST GAME EVER TO BE PLAYED?
This is perfectly acceptable.
But, I don't even have emoticons. How can I participate in the joyous use of glowy, black mega-fonts?
Type it just like this.....except where you see ( or ) use [ or ](size=17pt)(font=arial black)(color=red)(glow=white,2,300)(shadow=black,left)THE GREATEST GAME EVER TO BE PLAYED(/shadow)(/glow)(/color)(/font)(/size).
I failed Trigonometry. I'm not playing anymore.
QB play in what? Redzone offense? Wait...are you guys talking about...THE GREATEST GAME EVER TO BE PLAYED I hear that it will negate the Holocaust.
lol @old people on teh Interwebz.
Someone on Tigerdroppings last week showed how almost half of those redzone scores came in garbage time.
To me this is the real tie breaker.
