The Third Era of the Misfits Just Began

...and so far it's the worst of the three. New album "Devil's Rain" was released at the beginning of this month.



Jerry Only said "Fuck it, I'll just do the vocals myself" and now the Misfits are a threesome.

This one goes further away from the punk sound of the first generation, and explores the more metal sound from the second generation. But it's just not that rockin. There's no break-neck "American Psycho" type tunes. "Jack The Ripper" is probably the closest. The album sounds like old dudes trying to rock. It sounds like Quiet Riot playing at your local city fest.

Two of the better songs, I had already heard. They released that on an EP called Land of the Dead.

About 50% of the songs are good enough. Overall, pretty meh.

The good thing about it, though, is between this and Beavis & Butt-head coming back tonight I feel like it's 1997 again.
