I picked up our local kitty litter liner this morning. Normally, our rag does a fairly good job of equal coverage for both AU and UA with some Troy stuff thrown in. They're very consistent about having a daily feature on a player, coach or that week's game. Not this week. I totally get that the Cam Newton story is THE biggest topic in all of sports right now. In fact, I don't think I had ever grasped how much influence this guy has already had on the sporting world until all this came out. But still, nothing about the game?
There IS a huge football game this weekend that not only could seal the West for Auburn and a trip to Atlanta, but it could also be one giant step further towards a berth in the MNC game. But not one fucking word about that...unless you wanted to find a blurb about it in the latest earth shattering revelation about some scumbag piece of shit making claims about the Newtons. Fuck em'!!!!
If anyone hasn't watched ESPN's piece on Marcus Dupree, I highly recommend it. Not only will you see tons of footage on one of the greatest athletes ever to grace a high school and/or college field, you also get an in-depth and very telling, no holds barred look at what recruitng was like in the early 80's. Hell, they were offering Dupree's Uncle $40K just for the privilege of talking to the kid. What you want Marcus? Mama needs a double wide. Bingo...one double wide set up within 48 hours. Cars? Houses? $100K? What do you want?
