Cam Newton was not asked to run in Saturday's win over Louisiana-Monroe, but the Auburn quarterback still managed to move up some national charts.
Newton is tied for first nationally in points responsible for per game; and is second in the nation in passing efficiency.
Newton has been responsible for -- by land or air -- an average of 20.4 points per game, which is tied for the national lead with Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Newton's passing efficiency is 191.44. That's trails Utah QB Terrance Cain, whose passing efficiency is 192.50.
Newton has completed 57-of-87 passes for 928 yards and 12 touchdowns. Cain has hit 37-of-49 passes for 486 yards and five touchdowns.
Newton is also 21st nationally in total offense; and Auburn is 11th in total offense as a team.
Newton led the SEC in rushing last week, but his only carry in Saturday's game was a sack for minus-11 yards. He fell to fourth in the league in rushing, averaging 94.8 yards per game.
